The West indies: a new Generation

​

The West Indies have been down and out for a very long time now.
Even with Chris Gayle leading the Team, they have failed to live up to expectation. West Indies did started to build as a team, but with injuries and the dispute between WICB and WIPA, had brought the team back to square one.

It's time enough now, West Indies must change, with new talented player out there who are looking to play for the West Indies, will be West Indies only hope to regain their past glories, along with the like of Gayle, Sarwan, Chanderpaul, Bravo, Taylor and Edwards.

The World Cup is getting closer, the West Indies have 3 series to play before the World Cup, they will be looking for a good side, who can win the cup for them.

The West Indies Squad have been chosen. They will Face England in there first Test in Jamaica. West Indies turn to 3 Fast bowler in Edwards, Taylor and Roach. Along with Spinner Benn and med pacers in Bravo and Nash. As for the batting, Gayle going to open with New talent Barath, with Sarwan coming in 3rd. in the middle order they have Chanderpaul, Nash, Bravo and Ramdin. West Indies also added a new talent in Pollard, who wouldnt be in the starting 11, but is the 12th man, hoping he will get to play his first Test Match for West Indies soon.

West Indies havent win a game in awhile and will try to at least get something out of this game. It's going to be difficult, but with the likes of Gayle , Chanderpaul, Taylor and Edward, also with playing in their home soil they may pull a surprise.

As for England, they are riding high in there last few game, hoping to continue this good form against West Indies.​

Going to a very hot Day, through out the day, with not much wind. It's going to be a very hard day for the bowlers.

West Indies Is yet again suffer a Big blow, as D Bravo, is injured. one day before the match, which Give K Pollard. an opportunity to make his Debut in Test.

West Indies VS England
Day 1 Session 1

Toss: Won by West indies and they chosen to Bat.​

C Gayle and A Barath Open the batting for the West Indies, while J Anderson and G Onions open the bowling attack for England.

West Indies started off slowly, as they Went at 2 - 3 runs. Carrying the score to 15 from the first 5 over. both C Gayle and Barath Played very defensive, waiting for the bad balls to hit.

J Anderson Bowl his 3 over just for 10 runs, while G Onions Bowled 2 over for 5 runs.

A steady start for both side.

After been on the defend, C Gayle started to
Push for run, as he hit two back to back 4's.
attacking J Anderson.

Gayle starting to move the Score, as Barath just sit back and play on the defense.

After 10 overs.
West Indies Scored 32 Runs, with C Gayle, moving to 21 off 39, and Barath 3 run from 29 balls.
C Gayle attacked Anderson as he went for 23 off 5 overs, while Onion keep it tight as he went for 9 off 5 overs.

In the 10th over, Chris Gayle hit another 4.
After Gayle hit that four, he was hit on the pad, as everyone went up for the appeal, unfortunately for England it was turn down, by the umpire.

the Very next ball, Gayle was clean bowled, with a Ball which didnt bounce, what Gayle expected it to do, as he move on his back foot and the ball dip below his bat as it hit the stump.

Gayle was very Lazy , he move very slow to the ball. It's a really big disappointment by Gayle.

West Indies are 38 for 1.
As Sarwan walk out.

in the 12th Over.
Sarwan Followed Gayle as he goes for 0. Anderson toke his 2nd wicket and West Indies are under pressure. 2 wicket quick wicket, now put a lot of pressure on Barath and Chanderpaul.

West Indies are now 41 for 2 in the 12th over.
with Barath on 6, and Chanderpaul 0.
West indies will have to build a partnership between these two.

Love the start to this. Windies haven't got off to a good start though. Chanderpaul holds the key and has to bat long for West Indies to post a good score in 1st innings. I'll be following this one for sure.

England Makes there first bowling Change As S Board comes into the Attack, with West indies on 41/ 2. Losing two of there most experience Player.
Leaving Chanderpaul to do the Job yet again for them.

J Anderson may have gone over 4 Rpo, but he have taken up two very important wicket, of Gayle and Sarwan. he have bowled 7 Overs for 31 runs.

with G Onions Keeping pressure for the West indies with great bowling performance by him, he bowled 7 over for only 13 runs.

A Struass will be very Happy with this start, by his two opening bowlers.

They will be looking to get rid of S Chanderpaul as early as possible. Chanderpaul is the only West indian Player to average nearly 50. with 49.29 in Test. Played 121 Matches and Scored 8576, with high score of 203*. West Indies willl have to really hope Chanderpaul play a good innings and get them out of this patch Of 41 for 2.


What a Blow.
England is Celebrating, as the Dangerous Chanderpaul Goes and West indies is in all sorts of Trouble here.
S Board first Over of the day. A Good deliver and Chanderpaul is Hit on the pad and the umpire fingers Rise, not a good sight for any West indies fan.
West indies are 44 for 3.
A Very Poor start by the West indies.

Gayle, Sarwan and Chanderpaul 3 of the most experience Batsman all back into the dressing Room, with West Indies in serious trouble.

A Barath still playing a slow innings 4 off 41 balls, with new batsman B Nash comes to join him. Nash Avg just 38.23, played 9 matches for the West indies. have made 497 runs with the highest been 109.

He will have to play positive Cricket along with Barath. to Move West Indies to a good target. They star batsmen Failed.

these two will need to build a partnership and survive until Lunch.
J Trott to take over from Onions, who bowled very well.
J Trott bowled the first maiden of the day in his first over.

west Indies under serious pressure, they aim should be to Survive until Lunch.

Nash and Barath play out one over each of Board and Trott.
Nash started to cash in as he hit Trott for a Beautiful shot for 4, Trott pitch it shot and got put away.
Nash hit the ball over short leg for yet another 4, as he scored 11 Runs from 18 balls, Moving West indies to 63 for 3

Barath also pitch in with some quick singles and 2 fours moving him to 18 from 60 balls.
Barath is playing sensible here, not looking for so much risk, playing his shot in safe areas and taking his time, not rushing for those runs,

West Indies reaches 78 for 3 in 24 over.
Nash and Barath build on a good partnership here, moving the scored from 45/3. still alot of work to be done.

As West Indies started to build on something here. Lack of consideration prove another wicket. The Runs started to flow, unfortunately Nash played one shot to many. Nash Edged the ball as Cook in the first slip catches the ball, and Nash goes for 15.

Very disappointment here for the West Indies. as the 4th wicket goes down for only 79 runs.
England did a very good job here, the condition isnt favoring the bowler much, with the heat, with out any wind, it's really hard for bowling.
West Indies having taking the advantage of the condition and is failing to post any type of big score.

K Pollards come to join Barath who is playing a patient game, seeing all his partners getting out. Pollard is test Debut, will have to play really sensible to get the West Indies out of this disastrous start

At 25 over West indies will need a Big Partnership here. 5 Over remain until Lunch.
things isn't really looking good for them at the moment, some one will have to Play a big innings here, to make sure West indies reach a good total.

A bad shot.
A Barath who was looking good, Played a very unnecessary shot into the air as he is Caught by Swaan off the bowling of Broad for 33.
Seriously This shot wasn't need for, Barath main focus should be playing to Lunch. He was playing very good out there. to give away his hand like this, is very disappointed

West Indies in all sorts of Trouble.

As Vice Captain coems into the attack
D Ramdin, very poor with the bat in recent time, will have to try to bat positive today. Avg 24.05 played 36 matches, scored 1323 and have a high score of 166, ramdin will have to play an Innings to not only save his records, but to save the team, who really need two people to stand up and get a good partnership.

West Indies reach to Lunch without any feature Wickets.
Scoring 106 for 5. in the first session. a Very poor start by the West indies.
Both Ramdin and Pollard is going to have a very big task ahead of them.
Both will have to try to survive till tea, if West indies going to post anything near to 200.

After LUNCH

Pollard and Ramdin walks out with a lot of work left to be done, both of
these batsman will have to work hard to post a good total for West Indies.
Only player that left to bat for the West Indies are they bowlers, K Roach,
S Benn, J Taylor and F Edwards.
Most of these can bat a little, but Ramdin and Pollard will have to stay at the
crease as much as possible and not to expose these tailender to the crease.

England Have strike again.
Pollard try defending a good ball, which was Pitch up to him as it fine the
dge, Prior HAd to dive to his right to catch a great catch, sending Pollard
back to the dressing room, with West Indies move further into deep trouble.
West are now 107 for 6.

K Roach comes to the crease to Join Ramdin. K Roach on his debut, Roach
can bat a little, this would be a good moment for him to try to See if he can
add a score for the West Indies, his main focus should be getting Ramdin on
strike.


Having all the Pressure on him, D Ramdin couldn't hold on anymore, as be hits a
very bad shot getting himself in all sorts of trouble as he just push one into
the hands of Bell.

West Indies are now just 114 for 7.
S Benn come to join K Roach at the crease.
Seem West Indies are going to be all out for Less than 150.

A Very Disappointed Performance by the West Indies.

Presentation is nice,writing is good too i would suggest to tell about dismissals a bit more for ex:- "Dinesh Ramdin was tired and got out of a loose stroke,he smashed the ball on straight but unfortunately he didn't saw the fielder there and got out cheaply."

You can surely improve,KIU.
