Tbh though, we should be beating them, Belgian Champions or not. I agree though, we've had some bloody bad draws. Villarreal went on to get to the Semi Finals, Metallist were surprisingly awesome, and Liege are just twats . We should have bought Defour though tbh.

Standard Liege looked like a great team to me. They were brilliant against Liverpool in the Champions League qualifiers and they have done very well in this tie to beat Everton.

Am I the only one who thinks the UEFA Cup is pretty meaningless? It's just for mediocre/underperforming teams or teams from small footballing nations. It's basically the Johnstone's Paint Trophy of Europe.

The winners can't even call themselves the champions of Europe if they win it.

Even the Champions League isn't what it used to be. UEFA are trying to bridge the gap by rebranding the UEFA Cup as the "UEFA Europa League" next season.
