LARA SMASHES HUGE HUNDRED AND GIVES WINDIES THE EDGE

Brain Lara has entered into some form after smashing a huge century off just 110 balls. He smacked fours to all parts of the ground as the Windies started to take control. Now the pressure is back on the Redbacks.

Its always good to see lara get a hundred, hopefully it will be his last though :D

TAIT AND ROFE STUN WINDIES

Paul Rofe and Shaun Tait have both knocked the Windies confidence by dismissing both in form batsmen. Tait produced a sizzling yorker to knock Chanderpaul's leg stump flying and Paul Rofe bowled a sneaky slow ball which Lara spooned up into the air which was caught by Rofe himself. The Windies are now in danger of losing from such a good position.

SARWAN DEPARTS AS WINDIES DECLINE

Sarwan, the man who stood against the Redbacks in the first innings has been caught for 3. He was tempted into playing a cover-drive on a pitched up slow ball which he misjudged and popped up to Lehmann at cover. Cullen claimed the wicket which came as no surprise to some people as he had been troubling Sarwan with his constant good line and length. Now Browne will have to play a brilliant innings to give the Windies even a slight chance of winning?

END OF DAY, NOT A GOOD ONE FOR THE WINDIES

The West Indies have all but destroyed any hopes they had of winning this match. After being 110/2 at one stage they crumbled to just 155/6 at the end of the session. Cullen was the hero, picking up the wickets of Samuels and Sarwan. Samuels, trying to lift his team?s run-rate was out slogging when he failed to connect with a quicker delivery from Cullen that went straight into Gillespie's hands at square leg.

WINDIES DISASTER LEADS TO REDBACK VICTORY

The Windies have made the worst possible start to their tour of Australia, going down by 116 runs to South Australia. Although Brain Lara starred with a massive hundred in the 2nd innings it was no where near enough to get the total of 296. This is a major body blow for the Windies who now head for Perth for another test against WA...

Hey guys, I have posted a poll so you can decide who was the best player for the match. I have chosen 5 from each team who I thought contributed well to the game.

:cheers

2ND WARM UP MATCH, WA V WI

RB: Welcome to this marvelous ground for the 2nd warm up game between Western Australia and the West Indies. The Weather is fine and it looks good for the next 4 days of play. Just before the teams come out we will have a word with tony who is down on the pitch.

TG: Thanks Richie, this pitch is ideal for batting, it is hard and will deliver good bounce throughout the entire match. Not one for the bowlers to look forward to. The pitch, unlike the last one in Adelaide will not deteriorate during the course of the game so the bowlers will have to work extra hard for their wickets. In my mind, definately bat first on this track. Back to you Richie.

RB: Thanks Tony, Well before Tony made his report the toss was thrown and won by the Windies who chose to bowl, A very interesting descision and one which I personally think will backfire on them in the later stages of the match. But for now its down to the action on the feild...

WA LOOSE EARLY WICKET THANKS TO BRILLIANT CATCH

The Windies have made a very positive start to the innings with an early wicket off the bowling of Bradshaw. Mike Hussey chased a delivery down the offside which he misstimed, Shiv Chanderpaul fived forward and took and amazing catch which really lifted his teams spirit. the 2 Aussie batsmen will have to get down and work hard to recover this match...
