IPL What do you think now? PCB to lodge complaint with ICC?

No. They'll appear on the local tv channels there and talk about how the "Hindu religion" had a role to play in the IPL auctions, like Sohail Tanveer said the other day. :facepalm

And absolutely what can the ICC do about this?

I think I can even predict what will happen next- ICC will say, "Its outside our jurisdiction and the IPL is a private league". In response to this, PCB will say, "ICC is being dominated by the BCCI and it is not right for the ICC to keep quiet on this issue as this will adversely affect cricket". :sarcasm

If you say so :sarcasm

If its out of ICCs jurisdiction then why do you cry about the ICC not giving the IPL a window, if the IPL is domestic cricket :sarcasm

The players want it. I'm sure Lalit doesn't care a bleep about a window or something like that as long as he has the monies at his disposal (which no other country can match, may I add ;)) :clap

What players? The small minority of the majority that play international cricket.

I'm not talking about the players or Lalit, talking about you. Your the biggest advocate for the "Create a window for the IPL" fan club. If it aint international then why should there be a window in international cricket for the IPL.

I won't be surprised if they do, lodging complaints is the only thing they're good at.

Lol. Naseem Ashraf was the last good PCB office-holder. Once he was gone, PCB have been busy pwning themselves

It happens because it is allowed to happen, but that may only be a matter of geography. If such a situation occurred between EU trade partners, the phrase "restraint of trade" would be certain to come up.

In terms of direct power, it's probably beyond the ICC, but the IPL could not exist without ICC sanction and probably not without the consent of the other boards to supply players. In that sense, the ICC does have sufficient power to strong-arm its members when they misbehave. It just comes across as extremely unlikely that they would act in such a manner.

^^ The only sensible post in the whole thread ;)

Answering the thread title: It wont do any good

This is too much man.
Why would you lodge a complaint with the ICC cause your players were not selected by any franchisee ? Very childish.

PCB needs to understand that the IPL is run by corporate honchos who would not have wanted to pick Pak players by paying them a great amount just for a single season.

This is big time respect being given to the IPL. Lalit Modi must be having a ball sitting at his home and watching all this 'thamasha' (drama) continue to unfold. Even if his IPL is not telecast in Pakistan's cable, there will be lot of people who will be following it (discreetly!) from Pakistan. And the kind of publicity that it has got is HUGE!!

Ijaz Butt makes his best effort to bring the nation down at every opportunity he gets. He has asked the players not to give press releases, yet he is the culprit behind some of the most insane outbursts...

Nasim Ashraf was the last good PCB Chairman....

@ thread starter: Go, ask em to complain and see what happens. The ICC would answer "we don't conduct IPL. Its better asking Mr. Modi about it."

Binnu added 4 Minutes and 24 Seconds later...

Oh sorry. Title says "with ICC". So, answer to whom they'll complain along with ICC.? To BCCI right.?
