What player do you want in your team?

Easy off, lads. An opinion is an opinion.

But he is right to an extent. He has only played two teams. All but one games was on spinner friendly pitches in Sri Lanka too. I don't think he played in the WI tests, did he?

Yeh people definitely worked out that Murali fella, he's crap, he's only got 756 Test Wickets, with only 82 wickets in 13 Tests in 2 years, averaging around 24. Technologies definitely made it harder for Murali to get wickets hasn't it.

Was going to say the exact same thing till I got to your post.

England need a quality spinner who's unorthadox and young Medis would be perfect.

I never said that he's crap. I respect Murali as a legend of Cricket.

But do you not agree with me, that it has been easier to pick Murali's variations.

Let me put it this way - was the Murali of say, 1996-1999 easier to pick than the Murali of 2008?

I'd say that since the players have seen Murali so much (well, seen him taking their wickets) on their iPods and TVs and in actual games, that they are more comfortable with playing Murali as of 2008 than of 1996.

I hope that makes sense.

I get what you're saying zMario and I do actually agree with you on this.

Now about this Mendis fella; he's got nothing on Samit Patel!!

And Fred would eat them both.

And yeah I really do want Paul Horton in England's Test side. He'd be class opening with Cook,

Just my two cents on Mendis. It seems the players that played him off the pitch fared better than the ones that tried to read him out of the hand (i.e. Dhoni). Of course, many of the players who tried to play him off the pitch but weren't good enough (or quick enough) found their stumps shattered.

Mendis is going to have a good honeymoon period with the international game, I feel, because video analysis and technology's got nothing on actually playing him. Once he has played a few games against all the sides in the world, I think he will be picked far easier. But as of now, he's definitely a threat for all sides in the world and I would pick him.

I would pick Andrew Flintoff for India, because we badly need an allrounder who is equally superb in both batting and bowling. Here are some other players I would love to have for India

Brett Lee - Speed with accuracy
Brian Lara - Anyone would want him
