was decent with the bat to! i think he batted at number 8 and got a test hundred and 13 fifties!

Indeed he was, he averaged 24 with the bat in tests.

I remember when he retired he announced that he will still continue to play One Dayers and Twenty/20's up until the 2011 WC. Obviously he isn't SL's future plans but I think he is deserves to be given a chance. SL are in need of a good frontline pacemen to lead their attack and although his pace isn't all that fast he can still swing and seam the ball very well.
