Which bat is Brendon McCullum using currently???

I didn't know that is how they did it :p

I've always thought that the players just turned up at the factory and got free bats.

Sponsors pay for them. So technically they are free unless you are bowler.

Aye, quite a few professional's (that are contracted to the crappier bat making companies) don't use the actual bats that the stickers say. They're just sponsored to use that companies stickers. Not surprising though really, Puma's bats are generally of pretty poor quality, like Woodworm.

Bowlers get free bats from their sponsors as well Sid. I've seen a video of a few of the England lads (Stuart Broad included) going down to the G&M factory to pick up their new bats. I doubt there are any International cricketers that buy their own bats.

Pro4Sport Ltd - SALE ITEM - Puma Ballistic 5000 Cricket Bat << Here's a decent deal for a Ballistic if you really want one though. I definitely opt to spend a little bit more and get a proper make. G&M come highly reccomended from me, the 2009 Icon and Hero's are lovely bats, especially the Icon.

SG are the best bats suited for Indian conditions. Obviously you cant compare these bats to those used by international players as they are custom made these days for each player depending on their requirements. But still SG is supplying bats to most Indian cricketers so they come close to real deal.

I even had chance to play with Reebok bat used by Azharuddin and I can tell you it weighed feather.
