Who SHOULD be the English Wicket-Keeper

You all mad, Nixon always gets the team and the cround psyced up and his batting is amazing. He loves to mess with the batsmen's mind after the over and in it, he said to Symonds in the ashes ''edge this to slip or me and ill print the score card and post it to you for a month'' next ball Symonds gets bowled.

Prior deserves a go but the only way he will progress to be honest is through the counties, but if he can do well for England 'i like him'!

FACT: I should keep for england, stump em all+catches and ill hit 6 6's off the over:) i have done that

Not Nixon. He might have admirable qualities to jolly the team up, but his keeping isn't very good and his batting is just effective in ODI's. I don't htink he'd last it in Tests.

It has to be Foster or Davies, although I would have no complaints with Prior.

As much as I think Nixon has done well and deserves a chance. What is the point in playing him this summer. Surely we've got to look for the future and he's certainly not that.

James Foster. Not only does he play for Essex, he's a damn good keeper and a mighty fine batsman.

I don't really know who should be the england keeper, but yesterday in our national school cup game we had the most annoying keeper. He was always talking crap, and trying to stump people, and from our team he stumped one. In the end i batted for 2 hours 5 mins and was not out. He was pretty much identical to Paul Nixon but 25 years younger.

Prior, with Davies second choice. In this day and age you can't afford to "carry" a keeper. They simply have to be able to score runs.

Read's technique isn't good enough, Jones isn't good enough, Nixon is too old and whilst I like Foster, I don't think he's the man for the job.

Nixons not gonna get any better,Prior for now for me. I'm sure we've got to have some good young keepers come through in the next few years,Tom New looks good, his keeping fine and he's a good batsmen just has a strike rate of about 1 :p

Matthew Prior he just has that matchwinning ability and he is probably one of the best keepers in england in terms of hands

I still think Read should stand behind the stumps in test match cricket, maybe not one-day cricket. For me, he is by far the best keeper in the country, and the test cricket he has played showed that he can bat. I know his batting is not brilliant, but he will drop hardly anything, which in the end of the day is the main thing, until we can find a Sangakkara/Gilchrist. My second choice would be Foster, I like what I have seen of him. Davies is too young for me though, give him a bit of a taste of the England camp, but let him keep developing in county cricket.

Get in Niall O'Brien :D

I say Nixon for now until either Read or Prior can prove to be consistant!

Prior is about the most consistant keeper on the county circuit. On the international stage he's played what 12 games?

Monty57 - That's a name not a word :p Unless you are talking about the deputy of the abbot...
