Whos is best batsman in world?

I just heard somewhere that Muralitharan was making fun of Sachin Tendulkar. Because he got more runs than the little man in 2003. I bet you that Murali is not even going to get to 241 runs in 2004

but u gotta admit 153 runs isnt that good for a professional batsman in a whole year

all you guys who doubt his class are stupid.he didn't even play that well for his 241 but he still got it.not one single four through extra cover or cover point.one of his best areas.that shows you his class.

Er, no a commentator said that to him after the thrashing of England, he just smiled but didn't actually agree or say any such thing.

Ricky ponting and Adam Gilchrist are the 2 best batsmen in the world.

Dravid would have to be up there after this fantastic series for him

i think u r guys r just in plain denal...well right now at this current form ponting is better...and dont give the crap about umpiriring, i saw the match and there were no bad calls while ponting was batting...i think u guys just cant take facts
Well said pitty it didnt work out that way.

But no doubt ponting is better than tendulkar.

Well, enjoy ponting's innings of 2003 as a memory cos now he's the test captain that form will be gone.
There is no way in happy thoughts ponting is better than tendulkar, Sachin is the greatest batsman of our era and will be remembered as such.
However the current best batsman in the world is Rahul Dravid. No doubt whatsoever. That's why he won player of the series.

He only won Player of the Series coz of our bowlers, i think we rushed Brett Lee back, Bracken is poo he didn't even attempt to get a wicket, and Williams well theres nothing i can say good about him. I think Gillespie bowled alright for a comeback after injuring himself. MacGill just hit a wall, but any1 who says he's sh?t, SHUT UP!

sorry dude, i didn't even say who i thought the best batsman in the world is.

I reckon at the moment Matthew Hayden, Ricky Ponting, Brian Lara, Rahul Dravid, or VVS Laxman (Probably being a bit Aussie biased but oh well)

Best of all time you cant go past Sir Donald Bradman. an average of 99.94 no-one will ever beat that, and if they do they would've only played like 1 test
B) infact there is one player who average is higher then sir don

he scored 126 runs in his debut ,but was not selected after that ,

i think he was from the westindies,or maybe england not sure ,

but if u need to comfirm that ask our cricket guru nixon...

Er, he won player of the series because he was the best batsman in a runs dominated series.
So if Ponting had won it, would it be because if India's bowlers?
Gillespie was your best bowler of the series, he actually understands the concept of line and length.
And sorry dude, but MacGill is a piss-poor Shane "Banned DrugCheat" Warne subsitute.

the thing is dravid was more vaulable as he put his team in domianting postions with bating and his great slip fielding as ponint had dropped 4 catches i heard

Also dravid batted 4 days(day 2 3 4 5) in the 2nd test, that is called mental strength

i think dravid showed a wee bit more consisentcy with the bat more than ponting as ponting hit two big 200s Dravid got a 200,couple 40s and that crucial 91 at the last test in quicktime

personally i feel Dravid deserved it and i even thought maybe kumble did but he just gave too many runs
