The thread title is slightly misleading. I voted based on who is the best spinner at the moment.

If you were talking about spinners through the ages, such as Laker and Warne, than why is Murali, or Saqlain, or Mushy not included in the poll?

LOL. My point exactly. I asked him why he didn't include Murli and he told me that he is already the best off spinner and a champion. OK, we know that but so is Shane Warne. You have included Warne but not Murli.

I've voted for Warne. We're talking about the best spinners of all time so I've got a few more names such as Hedley Verity, Charlie Blythe, Hugh Trumble, Richie Benaud, Clarrie Grimmett(the first great leg spinner in Test cricket), Bill O'Reilly, Johnny Briggs, Alf Valentine(his team mates said he had talent to turn the ball on glass), Derek Underwood, BS Bedi and the list goes on..

I love people picking players on hearsay and not actually see them bowl for themselves. The two best I have seen was Murali and Warne. To add they played in a era where cricket evolve especially one dayers where run rates increased by a margin and fielding restrictions counted a bit against the bowlers.

I Think cricket will have better offspinners than Murali like narine,Saeed Ajmal,greame swann ,ravi ashwin.but we will not see a legspinner ever like warne.
