Are you deliberately trying to be a massive fanboy?

No funny boy. I have heard about the issue and asked if it really makes noises as most people who have responded in thread have the Box.

Quite noisy from my one, though it was very likely faulty from the off as it had a cataclysmic graphics failure after 45 minutes. I remember having to increase the sound on my Telly just to overcome it. You could fry an egg on that hideous power brick too.

Half-tempted to get a new 360 Elite, to play FM3, etc. Can't say I have any trust in them following my first and only 360, so probably won't get one.

I do laugh, hard, when I here people say they're on their 4/5th console, even heard 7th with some. It takes some fantastic persistence to stick with that!

Because it's the better gaming machine. It's worth the persistance.

But meh, I have both anyway.

At least with the old PS3, it doubled up with not only a Blu Ray player, but also a vacuum cleaner with it's efficiency to pick up dust faster than my Hoover ever could

Well just went through some threads on gamespot and ign. Everyone agreed the noise was there but what was amusing was that some games made more noise than others. It can be due to fact some games require more data to be read from drive.

Some people even suggested putting heavy books on top of box to make noises less. Who will do that seriously.

Also turns out that Box lets you install games on your hard drive. This reduces the noise levels to only few decibels. Considering Elite price drop I might wanna get this one in festival season just to try why it is called proper gaming console.

Luckily I am still on my first PS3. Even though I use it more as a media player than gaming console but I have most times just switched off the on/off button even when game is in progress. The first generation PS3 had some freezing issue but not that much of an issue now days.

The biggest issue faced by PS3 till now was after the 2.40 firmware update when after updating many system just froze on dashboard. Some Ps3 even did not booted up after that. I have from then made point to wait till a week before updating my machine.

Yeah, install the games to your HDD, It's what I did with all my games, just makes sure you got enough space. It reduces loading time and fan speed, effectively lowering the sound you mistakenly here for drizzling rain.

Like any entertainment system then. I could show you some relatively new PCs and the inside of them would shock you.

I'm pretty sure the warranty is 1 year for the 360, but 3 years specifically for the RRoD and each new console they have to send you has a 1 year warranty I think.

I got my 360 when the RRoD was supposedly still a problem (early last year) and have had no problems at all with it - I must have just been very lucky! :p (tempting fate by saying this!)

Thanks for that, Madman. Nice one, MS - you've accepted that RRoD is a major problem and have therefore increased the warranty for that one defect. :thumbs

So true. PCs are one of the best dust suckers around!

MasterBlaster76 added 0 Minutes and 44 Seconds later...

How many games can you fit on a 120gb Xbox 360 Elite HDD, on average?

It varies on how big the game file is. But to stop game piracy with the install feature, you still have to have the disc in the tray. Defeats the purpose doesn't it :p But I can understand why.

Oh lovely. Just found out that my 360's out of warranty, meaning I'd have to pay up to get it repaired. Screw that. I'm not paying ?65 or whatever it is, to fix an out of warranty console that's inevitably going to break again in the next year. I'm going to order a new one. ?220 for a 360 Arcade with Fight Night Round 4 and Guitar Hero 5 Guitar Pack sounds rather good, and I'd more than likely recieve it tommorow. Can play UFC again :D I need to buy a new PS3 controller at some point as well, just stepped backwards off my bed last night, landed straight onto my PS3 controller, breaking the L1 and L2 buttons. Annoyed :facepalm

You're better off getting a third party PS3 pad Dan. The official ones are ?30!

Not a fan of those 3rd Party controllers, always feel wrong and weird in the hand. I'll just wait abit and when I fancy getting back into Saints Row, Ashes and MGS I'll order a new controller. With Fight Night and Guitar Hero coming they should keep me occupied for a while, so I'll just wait a few weeks and order an official.

?214.98 for a 360 Arcade with Sega Superstar Tennis (eugh, comes in the bundle), Fight Night Round 4 and Guitar Hero 5 (Guitar Pack). Nice.
