Those Blueray error's are still less than exploding iPhones reported.

Yes, can you believe that? What are they going to do - get people to return their iPhones if bought within a certain period? I was thinking of getting one - not now, thank you.

Well they are known to send you a legal document which contains paras like You will be sued if the information is leaked and other threatening ones out like that in return for new iPhone.

For me, the only thing that separates the PS3 and the 360, is the failures rates. Which is what I should've read up on before purchasing a 360. Only been in repair once though.

Not had any problem with mine, or anyone else I know with a PS3.

Besides if you're worried about reliability, why is the 360 even being mentioned in the same sentence as the PS3?

Yes, the next-gen consoles are a long way off. The next big movement in entertainment changes is 3D, which the PS3 is supposed to fully support. I'm almost certain MS will release the next one before Sony, but I don't see the need to replace the PS3 for the foreseeable future. I expect the current series of next gen consoles to have a much longer life time. I wouldn't be surprised if it was 8 years between PS3 and PS4.

Apparently the RRoD is very rare now though? Has an Xbox 360 Elite ever had one?

I've got one of the new falcon-chip 360's and guess what? It's out of service atm, 2 red lights. My 5th console I believe, possibly 4th, yet I've not had 1 error of note from my PS3, excellent console. The 360's online stuff is far better, and I've played far more 360 in my time, but the PS3 is my main console atm. Should really get my 360 fixed so that I can play UFC again.

I've had 2 consoles get RROD on me as well. It's an absolute bitch, but I still go with the 360 as being the best. When I go on the PS3 it just doesn't seem as fun; ie, I can't hook a mic up and join a party with my mates. Plus the 360 dashboard is so much better than the bland unimaginative homepage thingy of the PS3.

So yeah, 360 for me please.

What if it RRoD on you after the warranty's run out? You have to pay to get it fixed then, don't you, or is it such a frequently happening fault that MS make an exception (unlikely)?

No one said about sounds that box makes. Does it?

I've no idea. I never used my warranty anyway; just bought a new console. They're dirt cheap now.

Are you deliberately trying to be a massive fanboy?

Why do that if it's still under warranty? They might be 'dirt cheap' now, but ?200 is still ?200...

obviously the ps3 because game data for future releases will be huge and it be easy to get the game on a single blue-ray disc rather than multiple x360 dvds. though i own both as both has some great exclusive titles

I've just decided to go for the new PS3 Slim. A smaller, lighter, quieter, more complete console that doesn't collect dust.
