YLOD for PS3

I've got a ps3. When i try to turn it on this yellow light appears and it beeps 3 times and back to red. It's the same as this

can anyone help me. What should i do???

Take it back to the shop, sounds like a faulty machine to me. How long have you had it for? Have you had if for a while, if so, has it always done this or has it just started recently? If it's a new machine, return it and get a new one. If it's still under warranty from Sony, give them a ring. Hope you get it sorted!

i've had it about a year. i rang sony and i got a refund and i new ps3 but i lost my HDD , i was gutted because my ps3 broke on friday and i got oblivion on saturday

Have you kept the machine well ventilated (if inside a cabinet, keep the doors open when playing and for a while afterwards) and free of dust? Overheating can lead to a machine going wrong. I've never heard of a yellow light though, can anyone else shed light on this? It's good that you were able to get a new machine! Hopefully that one will be ok.

i kept it in an open space, cleaned it regularly. took great care of it after all it was £450. Alot of people who've had it around a year got it

Hopefully they've sorted it out now, we just got ours in January.
