I've started playing an international career on ICC3 as England. Instead of using the tried and tested veterans i've opted to go for a mixture of youth and experience. My current squad is:

1. Cook (22)
2. Varun Chopra (19)
3. Vaughan (C) (Oldest at 32)
4. Bell (24)
5. KP (25)
6. Collingwood (31 ish)
7. Flintoff (29)
8. S Davies (WK) (19-20)
9. Broad (20)
10. Anderson (24)
11. Adil Rashid (19-20)
12. Michael Munday (22)
(These ages are appoximate as I am typing this at work, the actual average age of my team is around 24)
I decided to drop Monty as Rashid and Munday have an annoying habit of obliterating the opposition. This team is similar to the squad that helped me to a storming victory in the 2007 World Cup, beating everyone except New Zealand who hammered me in the group stages - AND this team is currently demolishing the WIndies in a test series with Munday and Rashid having both taken at least 1 5-fer in the two matches played.
Varun Chopra is yet to convincingly find his feet but I am determined to precevere as he is tipped to be a legend in training. In his last innings he managed to score mid-40s, and was unlucky not to score his maiden half-century.
My main problem is, like the real English side (although Ambrose is quite good IMO), finding a decent wicketkeeper. My current youngster, Davies, is prone to conceeding byes and averages about 17.3 with the bat.
I'd be really greatful if anyone could help me with this problem as Davies's inability to bat is becoming more than a minor annoyance. Also, can anyone think of a young paceman who could replace Anderson as he has been lacking in the wickets department since the group stages of the World Cup.

Thanks, Cal

I'd keep Davies as you keeper, he did a great job on my game with the gloves and averaged a healthy 34 over 120+ Test matches. In ODIs however he played 200+ but averaged only 16ish. I kept him in my ODI team cause I gave other keepers a whole ODI series to play better than him but only the same results.
Keep with him hes probably the best young English keeper around.

Also use Owais Shah instead of Collingwood in Tests hes brilliant and younger. Good Luck

Prior averages 40 for me and takes everything. Pettini as suggested, is a good player.

Try Tim Ambrose but I think Davies maybe better. Try out Alex Gidman of Gloucestershire btw, he averaged nearly 50 in tests and 40 in ODI for me.

who is alex gidman?Never heard of him.James Foster proved to be good keeper for me and also used solanki who is good at bat.

Mark pettini does the job well as a wicket keeper batsman. Averaged 40+ in both tests and odis for me. After he retires, though, you're in trouble. The best keeper in England at that time had a test average of 22 and a odi average of 12!

Spurway
Park
Foster
Ambrose
etc etc etc Search First class CURRENT and heaps will have good averages

Spurway, stick with him, just keep playing him, even if he averages 15 for 3 seasons, stay with him, and play him regularly
