First One Day International

Zimbabwe Going for the win

Well Zimbabwe have picked up the pace after the sudden 10 overs between 20-30 overs where it went a bit wrong till it started going right . Yet again West Indies were getting smacked around and this made the captain make a decision to bring in the Seamer, But it does take a long time for this judgement to work or in this case it makes it not work

Chamunga's batting form
Cricket2007-03-0517-10-27-39.jpg

He has been brilliant this match and has been playing brilliantly. Chapunga is closing down on his half century whilst Ewing has slowed down. This partnership could be the winner for Zimbabwe as these two have contributed very much. With the bat and ball Zimbabwa have been impressive.

Chapunga may be looking for a 50+ not out score but that would be pushing it against this quality bowling but the two batsman form is incredible. On the other hand West Indies Have been courages with the ball but they have scored too little in bat to sqounder a dredful defeat, possibly just possibly.

Zimbabwe : 167/4 ( 40 overs )
Ewing : 23(30)
Chapunga : 45(46)

Carlilse : 48(87) Dismissed By Hinds
Vermueleun : 14(22) Dismissed By Hinds
Maungwa : 25(38) Dismissed by Mohammed

64 Runs scored in last 10 overs.

Thats poor bowling from Windies in the end.. But batting was even more worse though from Windies

Well, its a good first win for new Zim coach.. Nice! :clap :)

Its good that Zimbabwe hve not lost too many wicket and going nicely toward the wiining total :clap

Zimbabwe Wrap Up The Innings

Well Zimbabwe have definitly picked up the pace in the last 20 overs as the first 20 overs were a bit slow but going at a nice comfortable run rate expecting to upset The West Indies here today. Captains on both sides need to make their players perform to try to maintain the lead after the 1st ODI

Chamunga's Formidable fours
Update.jpg

He has been brilliant this match and has been playing brilliantly. Chapunga has now reached his 50 and is the first member of the Zimbawain team under the management of James Edmonds. A great innings which has been incredibly quick and has been hitting a few fours.

Chapunga may be looking for a 50+ not out score but i doubt he will get much higher as the game will be coming to a close soon. As Brian Lara makes one lash push to win the game...... andhe has brought in a spin bowler to try and make sure the runs don't continue to flow today.

scorecarddo0.jpg

And there it is the win for Zimbabwe to make them go 1-0 up in this 7 match ODI series. It is a great achievement with the winning runs being scored by Ewing who has supported Chapunga very well and deserves lots of credit for his innings. The bowling wasn't tight enough as the Zimbabwains cruised to victory here today. A very memorable day here with many more hopefully to come. I give you A VICTORY!

Zimbabwe : 194/4
Ewing : 31(38)
Chapunga : 64(56)

Carlilse : 48(87) Dismissed By Hinds
Vermueleun : 14(22) Dismissed By Hinds
Maungwa : 25(38) Dismissed by Mohammed

Zimbabwe Win By 6 Wickets

It seems Ryan Hinds is developing as an allrounder :) Gud news for Windies as it failed to work out in real life right from Hooper's time! :p

Well welcome to Time Talk where we talk about the previous ODI's in this case. We will interview somebody from Planetcricket.net and ask them a few questions on the match, as in an interview, our first guest on the new show is Avroneel Biswas(WORLD CHAMPIONS) The person to interview him is Nasser Hussain

NH: so avroneel who would you of backed to win the game before the game had started and why?

AB: well i definately backed Zimbabwe and the reason is they are a younger side with a new manager and they also got talents as such as Chapunga

NH: How did you feel about Chapunga's and Ewing's Partnershp?

AB: Well they are too young....... but it was really good seee that they carry on a responsible innings which was what the team needed

NH: Carrying on from that, what about the fantastic innings for chapunga, on his debut!?

AB: i will say great knock on debut, he has got lot of potential

NH: How you feel about Bravo getting 76 and 1-19?

AB: Great, Simple answer when WI were at stake, he come with a handy 76

NH: Who do you think deserved to win?

AB: Zimbabwe

Well there was the first episode of "Time Talk", that was WC's point of view, please join us next time on "Time Talk"

Great win by Zimbabwe , they hve played really well :clap

South Africa V Zimbabwe(2nd ODI)

Well the Zimbabwain team and the captain have chosen the same players for the 2nd ODI in this 7 ODI tour as winning the last one they must be happy. Some good performances last time they could do another upset.

team.jpg

Well both teams have only recorded one match so far this season which was a great 1st ODI in this series where Zimbabwe won with a great partnership between Chapunga and Ewing with Carlisle also doing nicely. Mahwire and Streak were the pick of the bowlers in the last match.

RecetMatches.jpg

Conditions definetly favour the pace bowlers here today as it is completely a bowlers pitch but the batsman will be able to smash the spinners away but which isn't bad for us as i am not playing any spinners;)

Good start by the Zimbabwe

Well Zimbabwe have carried on their great form after the first amazing win against West Indies but here today they have tried to carry on their form. They ahve kept the same team and are counting on their main bowlers again.

1st Wicket
1wicket.jpg

Rainsford has struck and has struck very well by getting the 1st wicket of the day. He was impressive in the last match but has started very strongly today. A great bowl to put a message to the West Indian Batsmen.

Soon after they make a change in the bowling and have given some expierence lol some balls to try and get the breakthrough. After it not working the captain decides to give it a few overs more...

Another Wicket down!
2WicketStreakgettingLara.jpg

A fantastic bowl there by someone who definitly deserved a wicket. Streak has got Lara who played all round it and should of at least got bat to the delivery. Poor Batting, Zimbabwe could do with one more wicket and they would be on fire

What is going on?!
3Wicket.jpg

Oh my god another wicket! Maungwa has just caught him near the boudry but it was a great catch nonetheless. Gayle has gone to Rainsford and Rainsford has been the bowler of the series for me currently.

Well after a few spells of brilliance from Zimbabwe there was no more shockers to come so the score remained the same in the last over

West Indies : 27/3 ( 10 overs )
Chanderpaul : 0(4)
Sarwan : 1(1)

Gayle : 11(27) Dismissed By Rainsford
Lara : 7(13) Dismissed By Streak
Ganga : 7(16) Dismissed by Rainsford

27 Runs scored in last 10 overs.
