Sourav Ganguly, the former India captain, will deliver a lecture to young Bangladesh cricketers during a conditioning workshop which is being planned by the Bangladesh board's cricket development committee.

"We are planning to arrange a workshop to focus on patience, skill level, and mental toughness and we are trying to provide some international input in this regard," Shakil Kaseem, the chairman of the development committee, told the Daily Star. "The good news is that Ganguly has agreed to present a lecture in this regard. And I think there can be none better than Ganguly to lecture on this issue."

The Royal Bengal Tiger to give lecture to the emerging tigers in International Cricket. Will it be useful? Is he the right guy?

They should learn to be greedy like Ganguly and score for themselves.

Whats he gonna teach them? How to open the face of the bat so much against Muralitharan so that you are guaranteed to edge it all the time? Pfft.

I agree that Ganguly is efficient in patience and mental toughness and he is qualified enough to give a lecture to the young players on these aspects. Skill level - if its the management of your skills and how to extract the best out of the limited skills that you have, then Ganguly can also lecture on it because he was not supremely talented like Tendulkar or a Dravid but he still managed to work around it and scored mountains of runs for himself and for the team.

Oh come on. He was India's best ever captain, led the resurgence in the new millennium to propel India from a shabby, half and half team to one of the best in the world. He led us to the final of the World Cup despite the critics and tough opponents that Team India faced. He's been solid in his batting for India throughout the years, averaging over 40 in both forms of the game.

Why are people always so harsh on him! He has been a fantastic cricketer for team India, and the nay-sayers are just dumb tbh.

Depends how boring it is ;)

I think it would be fantastic if we can get Bangladesh into a competitive side in world cricket. It's one of the poorest countries in the world, which is a big part of the problem, but a successful cricket side could give a moral and economic boost.

And I am more worried because for the country like Bangladesh it is too much to invest in a sports like Cricket and still they are not doing anything as a cricket team.

I agree on this very much, I think if by 2010 the current team cannot improve we should stop wasting our money on Cricket and we better help the needy and helpless people in the country.

@ Ganguly, I think he has been a great Cricketer + captain. I think he's probably one of the most underrated Cricketer in India and the world.

Oh, he's far more talented than Dravid, but Dravid is still the better all round player.

Dravid would have been perfect for this role - He's very skilled, has great mental toughness to achieve great things besides not being talented at all, and patience - well, we all know Dravid is the best in that standpoint.

Ganguly is selfish. Dravid is a team man, and thus should be the one giving advice to the Bangladeshi youngsters, build a team spirit.

Ganguly should be allowed to play for Bangladesh as Captain of side.

This is the problem in India now Sid says ganguly should play for bangladesh some poor matches spoilt all his contributions in the past..I feel this needs to be changed in India

yeah, make them a future super star, so they can leave and go play ICL and crap, and leave bangladesh :mad
