West Indies Innings Over!

Well England will be so very releaved that the Innings are finally over. It seems as if they had been bowling for an age. They can't let their gaurd down, especially now as they have to bat very well. The West Indies did an amazing job with the bat which certainly sent shockwaves through the English camp. Every batsman from the first one of the West Indians has troubled the English bowlers and really made life difficult for for the whole of the English team. So the English batsman have everything to play for and will have to bat immensly well!

Well England managed to finish the Innings off early this morning with some good bowling, they managed to get the ball to swing late in the day which did the trick for the bowlers. However more chances were dropped this time by the slips, these drop chances have been the main reason for Englands misery on the field, now they need to really work hard with the bat, big hundreds are required!

The Statistics!

Great presentation and story punk. You should definatly be a nominee for SOTM.

WI looking good, England need to get a high score to draw or even win this match.

Cricket News and Highlights - Busy Week for England!

Hi, there everybody this is the cricket news and updates show where we focus on following England on their journey to the "Ashes Series 2009", we'll bring you the updates of how their doing...and how other teams that England will be interested are doing.

Firstly, as a England supporter you will know it's been a tough first two days of Test cricket for the Englishmen, the West Indies have taken the game to them and put them back by suprise. However these situations are key for England as it gives the younger players expiriance under pressure situations. We'll see how the next three days of test cricket go against the Windies, but for now, lets focus our attention at something a tad bit more interesting!...

Australian Cricket is Changing!

No, we don't mean they are changing clothes, we mean their cricket is changing. They have dominated England for a long while now, with the exception of the Ashes 2005, they have been the much better side. However with the retirement of the main strike bowlers McGrath and Warne, who will be remembered for cuasing England much greif over the course of a decade...Australia have some problems.

That man below is exactly what his caption says. He is a thorn in many a teams side and one of the worlds most destructive batsman. He's been the key to sucess on many occasions for the Australians, with his handy wicketkeeping skills and he's world class batting.

A thorn in many a teams side!

However he has been around for quiet a while now so his legs must be getting on a bit...and thats exactly how he feels. He's mentioned talks of retiring after the current series with India finishes. This is definatly a nail biter for the Australians with the Ashes coming up...Oh and we say he mentioned, lets just says its 95% confirmed that hes going to be retiring after this series, which in any case is a big big blow for the Australians and their lineup.

Speaking of the troubles the Aussies have been having, they've definatly not had a good time so far today, playing India in an ODI match-up in Australia. It's been a long summer but the Australian innings have just come in and the only word to describe it is poor. No batsman scored runs, except for Michael Clarke who is a breath taking young cricketer and works hard for his runs. But these new players which Australia are bringing in...well they don't seem to be doing the trick...

Take a look at that scorecard, not something were used to seeing of the Australians, they have been dominant in the ODI form of the game for a long long time, but the young Indian team was able to up-turn the flow of things and really give them a run for their money.

Maybe we are getting a bit carried away? Or are we? That question will be answered when the Ashes are around. However if England do want a chance to win the little urn back, they will have to fight and show form in all of their test matches from this point forward, or we can say goodbye to regaining the Ashes!

STAY TUNED FOR LIVE COVERAGE THE FIRST TEST, DAY THREE!

Day Three - Short Update!

The English innings have started and things aren't looking so bad, or shall I say things were looking good...Anyway the English batsman started of very nicely playing more aggressive strokes in comparison to how they played in their first innings where runs were getting on the board very very slowly, Strauss and Cook looked very good playing nice expansive shots all around the wicket. However a wicket was lost as Strauss got castled, but Vaughan was there and didn't take anytime at all to play a few of his famous textbook cover drives, however things went a bit downhill since...

Well as we mentioned things got a bit downhill since then, England lost wickets and lost them quick. First to go was Strauss who got bowled by a complete "Jaffer" he thought he had played the perfect defensive stroke only to find his off peg being knocked back by a ball that did a fair bit of the seam.

Cook then followed suit, playing a wild and ugly legside shot which went horribly wrong for him and he only managed to chip it to the fielder on the leg-side. It's a shame as he batted well in the first innings and looked in great nick in this innings too.

As we mentioned the run-needy Vaughan was playing some pretty good looking shots, nicely timing the ball through the covers as he loves to do. However he got a bit carried away and met his downfall, when Lawson bowled a well disguised slower-ball that Vaughan went after and was hoping to smash through the covers, but completly miss-timed it and only managed to be caught at backward point, which was very disapointing as the England captain had to stay out there and lead from the front, but it wasn't to be. Overall England are in a pickle at the moment and really need to build a strong partnership and score runs fast if they want to win this test match!

England are in a little bit of a trouble. One good partnership can save them though. Lovely presentation and awesome scorecard!

ENGLAND DISSAPOINT YET AGAIN!

England have pretty much lost this match, nothing has gone there way in their second innings, no batsman has settled down with the exception of Flintoff and Solanki. But it's just not enough. Since the second innings of this whole match it's been out of Englands control, and it goes to show. Wickets tumbled fiercely for England and they didn't stop tumbling.

The England boys got put into such a situation where they couldn't hold out for a draw but they also couldn't lose wickets, and in the end the pressure was too much for them to handle, even for the likes of Pietersen, Flintoff, Vaughan and Bell. They have been simply out played by the West Indies and theres not much long to go until the West Indies take this o'so crucial test match!

(Fall of wickets from right to left: Pietersen, Bell, Flintoff and Solanki).

In this match West Indies have shown us many stand out performances from their batsman. However the bowling has not been particularly strong, but in this innings Butler picked up 6 wickets. It goes to show how badly the Englishmen batted as Butler was struggling to get a wicket in the first innings, mind you he was a bit unlucky at times!

WEST INDIES REQUIRE 39 RUNS TO WIN!

Good knock by England but poor performance overall, the openers need shaking up, very disappointing. Maybe time to test the young guns in the squad?

Oh man I love your scorecards. Nice knock by Solanki but great bowling from Butler. Awesome presentation mate kiu!

That is really poor batting by England. Nobody except Solanki could really bat well. A really easy win for Windies coming up!!

Nice stuff!! Superb presentation and awesome scorecards!!
