End of Day One

The Pietersen and Solanki partnership will be the talk of the day really. Solanki played amazingly well to support Pietersen, a quick fire 50 from Englands new wicket keeping batsman has given England a much much more respectable total from where they were a session or two ago, they can definatly be please with themselves thanks to these two great batsman.

The talk of the day will also be Kevin Pietersens century, he batted magnificently well and deserves this hundred. He's played his shots adapted to each situation really well especially when wickets were falling he didn't let it get to him that he has to hit out he kept his cool and now he's got his reward...along with a lot of luck mind you.

West Indies eventually got the breakthrough and it was the ever so dangerous Vikram Solanki who was scoring runs at a qucik and fast pace. He went to the bowling of the left handed Butler who had taken a pounding all day and finally got one when Solanki played down the wrong line and was bowled. Also Pietersen has been let off so many times and made it to a glorious century. But he has had luck and made good use of it too. The LBW shout was probably going down leg. He then nicked one but no second slip and he was also dropped on square leg but he is still out there trying to score some runs.

Well played by KP nice to see him get a century here. Broad can bat also and if England survive session one of day 2 then England will be in the driving seat. WI need to finish the tail as quickly as possible.

Loved the presentation Punk...:clap

ENGLAND ALL OUT FOR 342!

West Indies have fought back really well this morning not allowing England to get settled. The wicket of Stuard Broad lead to a mini collapse from the England boys, althought they couldn't get Kevin Pietersen out, Banks managed to get onto a hattrick but it was spoiled by Matthew Hoggard. Mind you he didn't last long as his wicket fell cheaply too. Pietersen however remains the pick of the batsman, showed great skill and class and I'm sure everyone on Englands side will be delighted with his effort!

West Indies 1st Innings - Lunch Time Update!

Well, the Windies came out with a positive start to their Innings, especially Hinds, he was slashing, smashing and crashing everything to the boundary the English openers are getting destroyed thanks to the early onslaught by Gayle and Hinds. Although it didn't last as long as the West Indians would have hoped, Matthew Hoggard got the wicket the English were searching for of Hinds, he flashed at a pitched up delivery and nicked it to first slip who took it safley. Just take a look at the scorecard below, havn't seen something like that in a test match for quite a long time.

That was a good total by England. Hoggard started off well and if england get couple of wicket atm , then they will have a shout

I say Gayle, Chanderpaul and Sarwan are the main keys for WestIndies now.. If England get them soon, first innings chapter close for WI ;) Nice presentation :clap

Not a bad start for the West Indians. Their run rate is very good and they have plenty of batting to come. Man Harmison has been expensive!

Fantastic scorecards and overall use of graphics mate. Simply stunning!

England Getting Smashed - Tea Break Update!

England have not had a happy session. Sarwan has been destroying the English bowling attack he's been playing this test match as if it is a World Cup final. His batting has been of full confidence and the Englishmen have no answer to it. Bowling changes have not worked as Sarwan got to a quickfire 50 and then soon after he was on his way to a magnificent test match century! Despite all this he was dropped very early on in his innings for the score of 21...dropped by Vikram Solanki who has always had a question mark over his head when given the gloves. The question now is how much longer will Sarwan be out in the middle?

Although England have been hammerd all session the start of the session couldn't have been better. Chris Gayle went first ball after lunch as he was trapped for LBW by a ball that did a bit off the seam. They didn't end the session too badly either as they got rid of Chanderpaul who had been out there for a mighty long time, he was edged and this time Solanki made no mistake. However it will still be in Solanki's head that Sarwan is still out there thanks to him when he dropped a sitter!

sarwan is killing the bowlers england need to take his wicket quickly and need to take consistent wickets after that to defend their total

If Sarwan is enjoying there, I am sure Samuels would also enjoy with big hittings. :) Lets see.. No one can expect Windies to be consistent right? suddenly they will fall like pack of cards. :D

WOW Sarwan is like a bull in a china shop at the moment. Eveything is going everywhere. England need to reign him in. What patch mate and how you finding it?

Great work Punk ;)

Haha, well let's see what happens ;)

Thanks, I always wanted CPU to score runs, but this guy is getting on my teeeetz!

I am using Satish's AI Extreme V3 patch, it seems to be working well now, I remember using it a few years back and the cpu were very boring in test matches and was just get out, but seems to be good now. Just one thing, don't bother batting with this patch, you get edged way too much.

That Channel 4 overlay is making me wet.

Hehe, thanks for the reply I'm glad you like it!

Punk, that scorecard is absolutely brilliant. It's sensationally realistic, and if I were to watch my 05 Ashes DVD now they would be identical.

As for the game, England are in a bit of trouble. They need to take a few quick wickets after tea if they want to finish the day with a chance of bowling them out somewhere near their score.

West Indies Continue the Damage - End of Day Two!

England did not get much luck in this session, Sarwan continued his attack and has given the West Indies every chance to win this match comfortably. The West Indian batsman have stuck to their job right and good, with Sarwan and Smith taking the attack to the bowlers in a big big way. We mean big sixes which have got the crowd going and also added valuable runs to the board. Put this aside, Sarwan's act of attacking cricket has been seconded by Smith who smashed his way to yet another hundred and the third hundred of this match, boy we might have a good series to come...with the bat anyway!

However some joy came for England, as they got quite a few breakthroughs especially some really good bowling from the likes of Stuard Broad, who was a bit expensive at the end of the day but got the breakthroughs England so desperatly needed. Some might say the damage is done, but the main danger men are out, Sarwan,Smith and Samuels. With them gone England have a good chance of getting early wickets tommorow morning and keeping the runs down at the same time, if that happens the match will tilt back in Englands favour yet again, anything can happen in this match up!

Despite England being smashed about, Vikram Solanki will be very unhappy with his day's play. He dropped two men both very straight forward catches, but he dropped two...the two men that went on to make big impact hundreds and have given the West Indies a chance. The pressure of test cricket may have got to him, but he needs to sort himself out or he could be out of the side if he drops easy catches that could cost England a match!
