Who do you think is the most overrated player ?

Mine is Cristiano Ronaldo.Not many would agree with him.They better watch this video.

Ironic, looking at your avatar and signature, but I was going to say Lionel Messi. He gets hyped up a lot by people saying he is better than Cristiano Ronaldo, but I just don't see it. He doesn't look anything special to me. Hopefully he will come to England at some point because in my opinion you can't be truly great until you have been successful in the Premier League.

My other one would be Ronaldinho.

He may have his bad points, such as being a cock but to say he is overrated is just silly he is just really good, you don't score 40 odd goals a season for nothing.

I'd say the most overrated player in my eyes is probably someone like Lampard, Ashely Cole or Nani all three do very little and Nani is touted as being the next Ronaldo but I just don't see it.

OMG.Messi is an absolute beauty to watch.I would prefer him more than Ronaldo in any squad any day.I accept Ronaldo is a player with a lot of skills and talent,but he doesnt deserve the fame,popularity and hype that he is getting.Messi is a more reliable striker and is not seen doing those circus shows in a football ground(like Ronaldo).

That is perhaps THE worst video I've ever seen.

I'll tackle the "points" it tries to make:

A) Diving - Show me a world class player that hasn't done it, at least he doesn't go condeming it and then doing it the next week like Gerrard.
B) Doesn't do it under pressure - Goal in the Champions League Final not any good for you?
C) His tricks sometimes go wrong - This is probably the worst of the lot, most of the time they are perfect, a lot more than most other players. One of those showed was in that charity game.
D) Bad challenges - Ridiculous point seeing as Ronaldo is one of the players that doesn't go into a proper challenge too regularly.
E) Attitude after being booked - Not great, but at least he doesn't go up to the ref and try and grab the card out of his hand.

Almost all the English players are over-rated.

Ronaldo had a better season last time around, but Messi is clearly the better player. His shooting has improved a lot, and he can win games single handedly and is a treat to the eye. Its just a shame he plays for the Catalans.

The video I quoted is just an example for his ridiculous tackles and goal misses in some matches.There are many more things that arent shown in this video.But opinion differs.Not everybody likes everybody.My opinion is Ronaldo is overrated.

Most football players are overrated. To take a quote from KP and twist it a bit: "You're a footballer, not God".

Demanding high sums of cash, wearing their egos proudly, causing tantrums when things don't go their way...a lot of soccer players are overrated.

He scored FORTY-TWO goals last season. That is 42. I don't like him as a person, but you don't score 42 goals without being one hell of a player.

He may be a complete bell end, but he's head and shoulders above any other footballer playing the game right now. Only Messi pushes him close.
