Pakistan Players Will Not Feature in IPL 2010

have to agree on the PCB bashing here.... PCB and the government has a role to play here. One day the players had the NOC, the next day some minister woke up and decided that the players needed clearance from sports ministry. They kept on dragging it and now the players have to pay for it (and to a certain degree the audience). The players have hardly had a chance to play cricket, they lost good money in the second IPL and now they are going to be at the losing end again.

Its a loss to the Pak players financially but I am sure its a bigger loss to IPL and cricket in General. Pakistan is the best T-20 team and its unfair for audience to be deprived of their brilliance in a high profile tournament:facepalm.

politics should not involve in sport.
but here in case of IPL and BCCI, politics is involved and it is killing real cricket.

What I feel is its better leaving Pakistani players for next season of IPL.
If they come up, many teams has advantage and at the same time, DISADVANTAGE...!!

If they come up, interim players who came up for Pakistani Players will create a huge loss if the Pakistani player, who came up fails.
For eg, Chargers had Ryan Harris in place of Shahid Afridi.
Arfidi was epic fail in first season but Ryan Harris proved himself.
If Afridi comes up, we need to lose Mr Ryan Harris.
Okay, many think who cares about Ryan.
If Afridi continues to be in the same form, with which he put up first season??
who will be the loser?
And Royal Challengers.. WTF..!!
They've got Roelof Van Der Merwe in place of Misbah.
If Misbah turns out, RCB has to lose a good all rounder for a T20 Pinch hitter.

So, pakistanis should play IPL 4 as it has different Auction.

I can see what you mean RDF.

But I suppose it's unfair for the Pakistani spectators. Give 'em a go!

As I have said before and I say again, I have no issues with any Pakistani spectator/supporter. I love their players as much as I love mine. Its is their silly board with which, not just me, but even my friends from Pakistan have a problem with :facepalm

I see you second my opinion on the subject :)

PCB had done its work for producing NOCs but its now IPL and Lalit Modi's work to get visas,a very good comment by PCB media spokesman.
I can simply see politics by here otherwise there is no way of making this a issue.
Actually Lalit want to show that he is the God of cricket and without IPL International players would die.Although IPL provides most money to players but you should be respectful to players and other board.
It's actually team franchise and IPL management duty to get visas, why PCB plead to Indian government for visa when PCB has nothing to do with it.
I really think that MR.Lalit money mind has just stop working,if there would be Pakistani players you will get more money and in return you are getting benefits.
Similar is the case with India Pak series,BCCI now don't want to play against Pakistan owing to simple politics of making PCB alone,I fine with the thing that it impossible to play in Pakistan but why you are not showing response on neutral series.
BCCI is really showing they are not Indian board but are Godfather of ICC and which is really annoying.
First they cancel a schedule tour to Pakistan by saying security reasons, then said we don't want to play on neutral venue, now canceling SA test series and ICC is just sitting and watching.what the hell is this?
Sorry if anybody hurts due to this but I have nothing against Indian team, fans or IPL,it just thier board and MR.Lalit who irritates me.

Mate chill... calm down.. or else you might be warned for troylling..

Do not worry.. Everything will be fine between IPL and Visas.. Franchise Owner's will do something about it..:)

There is nothing in my post which can cause me a warning buddy:D

This might cause you

actually now with the new media release claiming that visas will be issued but they have been delayed a bit, I think IPL should induct the Pakistani players. It is Indian embassy's job to give out the visas and its really out of PCB control now, they did provide all that was needed from Pakistan's front.

We will have a clearer picture in a few days....

I wouldn't be surprised if the Indian High Commision was told to "slow down the visa process" purposely...

It wouldn't be the first time. Visas can be given in a matter of minutes, and these are international cricketers. Compound that with the fact that very few people apply for an Indian visa (as compared to an American or British) in Pakistan.

However, as I understand, only 1 player applied for his visa from Islamabad, while the rest did it from Wellington.

Somewhat unrelated but a few years ago India vs Pakistan (or was it some Asian XI of some sort) were supposed to play an exhibition match down in Houston. We even flew all the way down there to find out that the Pakistani players failed to acquire a visa. :(

It was an Asian XI vs World XI, and the series was cancelled 4 days before the first OD game.

I'm not sure whose at fault there; the organizers for calling it off just 4 days before the first game or the Pakistani players.

It could be a bit of both. I swear I read that some of the Pakistani players had visa issues. I'll try to get some sources later If I can find them.
