Which foreign player would complete your national side

England would do good with someone like Angelo Mathews, after all, he's got the name.

Suleiman Ben ? A good specialist spin bowler.

The reasons,
1. He is a better spinner than ours (based on what we saw in India).:hpraise
2. Our players just smiles too much? so we want a one who is not very keen on doing it... to make the balance.:(

Sulieman Benn over Murali, Mendis & Herath? That's a pretty big call.
Yes they did have a pretty poor series with the ball and the three-spinner strategy was not the success that they opted for but that is a very interesting call to say Benn is better than any of Sri Lanka's spinners after one poor series.

In the Test series against India, Murali & Mendis weren't attacking the Indian batsman enough but the circumstances they were in didn't help much either. Take the second test for example when Sri Lanka had to bowl when the pitch was not conclusive to bowling and bat when the bowlers had the advantage. With all this hype about 'Murali being past his peak', he is still the kingpin of Sri Lanka's bowling attack and I'm sure he will bounce back soon. Ajantha Mendis was a big disapointment for me and I think he needs to add more variation as it's looking as though batsman are countering him now.

Height is the difference. SL spinners are not tall enough to get the bounce. They get most of their wickets from LBWs and bowleds (you can see this from the stats of Murali, Mendis and Herath). So when the pitches are slow they struggle because batsmen have enough time to pick the variations.
Taller spinner like Ben (actually, I picked his name randomly) or some one like Harbajan who uses the seam to give the rotation can get some bounce even from a slow pich.

Now SL have picked Suraj Randiv a young spinner to replace Murali in the current ODI series. He is a tall bowler with an orthodox style... so it's interesting to see if he gets a chance. But the problem is he don’t have any International experience… It's going to be difficult for him to trouble the Indian batsmen on those flat pitches.

Well you take Benn and we want Murali or Herath in return.

No problem :)

...but if they are going to use the review system in every country then i should rethink about my idea. :p

have you guys realized yet that South Africa is the only team that dont need a foreign player? they got everything. even in spin department is decent. they just need luck so they can win those crucial matches

Not really, Harris is not much of a spinner, they would be a much stronger team with Daniel Vettori in place of Harris

Agreed, though Paul Harris is a decent spin bowler but if they had world class spinner like Vettori or Murali then their squad would be complete.

totally. also worth noting that south africa have one of the poorest batting tales and no test all-rounders of any note, barely even a decent part-time option, once Kallis' bowling starts going. Vettori would also bolster that considerably.

Vettori would bolster the batting but wouldn't change the bowling much. They have a fairly strong batting lineup and with Steyn who can at least put some decent runs on the board they arent as bad as it looks.
I would actually think that Shakib would be a nice addition for them. After all he had a great series with the ball in South Africa.

J Botha is decent. but not up to the mark, yet to take a 5w. but when you have #1 pace bowling attack you dont need Warali class spinners

I reckon a lot of countries would want some of India's domestic batting stars as well. Can see a guy like Badri fitting into England, NZ, WI very easily and making big runs.

WI certainly wouldn't mind giving the guy a shot, get him in at #5. I'm going to see if he has some connection to the Caribbean, get him in.

Botha has not been the Test spinner for a bit now, or at least he wasent during the tour to Eng and the home and away with AUS.

True but I think they'd rather have a Sachin or a Dravid :laugh
