Hi everyone, I really hope some of you can help me with research I am doing for a new cricket game. I am looking for detailed information on domestic cricket. The idea is that the player has a clear progression outlined, so they start at lower leagues and work their way up to play at the top competitions both at a club level and international.

It's been very difficult to find this information for anything below the Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy in India and anything below the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy in Pakistan. I already have lots of information for England, Australia and New Zealand.

So basically, any information would really help me out here or just a pointer in the right direction. Feel free to ask any questions.

Thanks in advance.
Mark

I'm willing to help You with Pakistani cricket, but I just want You to be a bit more specific with things You need help.
First of all, thanks for offering to help with the structure of Pakistani Cricket. This is what I've found out already:-

Match length 50 overs

Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Silver League 1

Teams:-

Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Silver League 2

Basically, I want to know if there is another competition that runs alongside these, such as a 20-20 competition. I would also love to know if there are other teams playing in other competitions at a lower level. I want the player to start at a lower level club and work up to playing at a bigger club and then international games and competitions.

The Quaid-e-Azam trophy is basically a first-class tournament. The list-a league is the Haier President's Cup. And just like the Quaid-e-Azam trophy, it is split between two divisions (Gold & Silver). The gold division has two groups. The silver division has three groups. The Twenty20 competition we had, is now defunct. Because of Pakistan Super League's inauguration.

This is fantastic. Thank you. Shame about the defunct Twenty20 competition. We might consider having our own Twenty20 made up competition in the game to run alongside this. Out of interest, is there a level below this or is it just school level or under 19?

To be perfectly honest, I find the cricinfo information hard to get a grip of. I think I understand how the Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy works. I'm just not sure about the level under that. What level does the Karnataka Premier League work on? I want the player to start at a club and work up to playing in one of the top clubs and then possibly getting invited to play in the IPL.

I dunno know about that. Maybe, Under 19's the only tournament below this but I'm not to sure.

No worries. :) What you've given me is great. All I have to worry about now is getting the data for India and then at some point I would like to get data on
Bangladesh, South Africa ,West Indies, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

Karnataka Premier League is a state level T20 competition.
Ranji Trophy-First class
Vijay Hazare-One Day
Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy-T20(not ipl)
Irani Cup-Winner of Ranji vs Rest of India(15 best players of other teams)
Deodhar Trophy-One day tournament between 5 teams divided according to zones(North Zone, South Zone, East Zone, West Zone and Central Zone)).

Thank you. I need to have a good think about how best to represent these in the game. I want the player to have a clear progression for them in the game.

Further to all this, is there another tier of cricket played with other clubs? All these competitions are comprised of the same 27 clubs. It would be great if we could add another tier of competitions below these, just to give the player some sense of furthering their career when they play.[DOUBLEPOST=1445440826][/DOUBLEPOST]
I believe that @swirler is Your go to man. He has great knowledge about Zimbabwean cricket.
Would love some info on Zimbabwean Cricket @swirler if you can spare some time. :)

I believe below First-Class cricket there is Grade 2 cricket, the same Mohammad Aamir was allowed to play before his international ban expired.
Here is the points table from the last seasonThe Home of CricketArchive.
I hope it was helpful. If you have any problems understanding it, just ask me.

Great to have you on forums. I can help you out with one of the tiers. Actually the above mentioned KPL is not a state based competitions as Vijay Hazare or Ranji etc...

KPL consist of teams playing for different cities of Karnataka State. Now players for Karnataka State Ranji Team are selected based on players performance in KPL.

Hope this helped you. Any questions regarding this can be clarified with me without any hesitations.
