Shit!!!!!!! Why did you post that? Atleast you could've waited for another win man! :notwell:
Whats wrong with that?

Its simple it just wasn't England's day at all. Doesn't matter who they have played Today the result would be similar.

Indian bowlers were simply outstanding today.

His fitness is still a question mark.

He is most likely to get fit and will be automatic selection in all three formats considering he is groomed to be future captain in all three formats.

Yeah I don't like with how he has approached his game since last few years and that reflected in his captaincy as well.

Don't you worry he will be given ample chances in the future both as a player and captain in future.

Having said that was my thought about squad although KL Rahul as a player but his approach in the past few years and being the leader doesn't quite excite me.

Why are all you guys associating him with the leadership? Please, NO!!

I’ve always called Shami our version of Starc, if I remember correctly their stats lined up almost similar a few years ago. It is criminal that we’ve under-utilised him over the years under the pretext of managing his fitness and our obsession with economical bowlers.

England look rubbish without Woakes, Archer, Wood and Rashid.

Parkinson looks like someone who needs some more pace on his deliveries to be threatening at the international level. Is there no other spinner knocking on the door? Not even one of those T20 Blast specialists?

Do feel like Topley (when fit) and Carse are worth persisting with. Willey when used properly is also a valuable weapon. They could be a useful second string attack to rotate with. The priority will be getting Archer and Wood fit and available though.

Yet again I don’t think you can analyse too much from a game like this. England’s white ball side has always been susceptible to collapses when the ball slightly swings to say the least. The only time I saw this not happen was when they knuckled down and sought to preserve their wickets at all costs in the last ODI World Cup. I doubt that happening under new management in a bilateral series. In any case I suspect Roy has to be benched, he has been just too miserable. He’s usually come back stronger in the past when he has been dropped too. Salt is a readymade replacement in ODIs while Bairstow should be opening in T20Is. Stokes at four is a better idea than Buttler there IMO. Mo still looks to be a misfit in this ODI side but I’m pretty sure he’ll not be dropped because of his potential on paper being useful in India next year.

Roy isn't usually dropped. He's in the side for one reason, to get a good start, which carries risk. He's also averaging 50 at 115SR in ODIs since the start of last year. He has an ugly technique which doesn't help. If he was Zak Crawley, no one would care if he gets out cheaply every now and then. There's lots of players knocking on the door but I can't see them moving him aside anytime soon.

Don't wanna shit on Parkinson cause he's still fairly young and has had limited chances, but he is one of the slowest leg spinners around and doesn't seem to have as much variation (based on what little I've seen). That could be a problem at international level. Jake Lintott and Rehan Ahmed both played today for the Lions. Lintott is a limited overs specialist, left arm leg spin could be more useful cause of the rarity. He's not that quick though either. Not seen a lot of Rehan Ahmed but he's had a good Blast, in fact both he and Lintott have done better this season.

Lintott 15 matches, 22 wickets @ 20.9
Rehan 14 matches, 19 wickets @ 20.15
Parkinson 10 matches, 8 wickets @ 32.5

The Hundred could be a big factor in whether or not they stick with Parkinson, as will any chances he gets before Adil Rashid is available again. Reminds me a bit of Kuldeep. He burst on to the scene and then from the World Cup onwards became a source of easy runs (at least for England). I was always happy to see him in the Indian side.

To be honest something feels off about England since Buttler took over. In the field and with the ball there doesn't seem to be the calmness there was with Morgan around. Used to them losing games every now and then but it feels like they need a big performance from the team and captain to just set the tone for the new era. India has had that this past week. The Stokes did it with the test side. I do worry about Buttler having the gloves, opening (in T20) and captaincy. The bowling unit lacks the experienced head of a Woakes right now, Archer too given how calm he is. There's none of the five bowlers that won the World Cup there and it shows.

I do enjoy the melodrama of defeats though, I think I've picked that up from the Indian fans on here. :p

It wouldn't be fun if we didn't wildly overreact.

Which brings me back to my stance that Roy should be dropped for Salt, Moeen should be made ODI captain, Chris Jordan should be made T20I captain, Luke Wood should play both white-ball formats and that Jos Buttler should bat four, not keep and be vice-captain for the ODI side. Thank you for coming to my hysterical TED Talk

It is only fair that we replace specialist captain Morgan with specialist captain Mo.

I am not in agreement with the drastic calls over the leadership change at the moment for England. The only thing that can be considered right now is the return of Alex Hales- England got nothing to lose here with his inclusion, unless the spirit of the team would go for a toss here.

I'm glad India won the toss yesterday. I shudder to think what the outcome would have been if England had put India into bat given the amount of help our seamers were getting.

Dude, you're not supposed to start this early....
I know I am famous for reverse jinxing.

But this is coming from the fact that India have a poor record at LORDS in ODIs and team after a defeat like that of 1st ODI tends to comeback harder and this England team is very much capable of that.

Edit - Have a decent record at Lords.
