Semifinals and Final

Where did you get that information from ?
I was looking for a source but could`nt find one.
The ICC President in his speech said that the next edition of this tournament will be held in England in 2009.

This was based on what Eddie and WC have been implying.

The ICC President in his speech said that the next edition of this tournament will be held in England in 2009.

here's the fact from official icc website-

"The ICC Board agreed to the inclusion of an ICC World Twenty20 competition at a meeting in April 2006.
It was agreed that the inaugural event would take place in South Africa in September 2007, with the second event scheduled for England and Wales during the ICC's Centenary Year in 2009.
The remaining period up to 2015 will be taken up either by one or two further ICC World Twenty20 competition, depending on the success of those first two events."

WOW !! what a match.....it can be labelled as the best of ALL the world cup
finals and it going till the last over made it even exciting....

our area showed the match in a projector in which loads of people were watching the match in the middle of the street...:D..and as it isnt been broadcasted in the local cable...everyone was present there....! everyone went crazy even for a dot ball..and after the final catch...all hell broke loose...tons of firecrackers, people going crazy...and young dudes like us were roaming around the city riding bikes at high speeds holding the indian
flag....felt really proud to be an indian...
even the police didnt have a problem and some of them actually even
joined us :p

Every word there is true, not exaggerated at all. Great win for India. And for the last time: INDIA ARE THE T20 WORLD CHAMPIONS!

Even in streets here, there were plenty of fire crackers. Yes indeed, it was the greatest moment for India. Just am not getting sleep now.. those sixes in final overs.. that wide which started the last over... Dhoni's walking to other end giving a word to Joginder.. One more six in a juicy full toss... Shot attempted in backside.. I thought it was a four... then the catch...

........ Then i threw the TV remote controller away and started clapping :D lol :laugh My parents got scared what i was doing for a moment! :p

All the moments standing still in my eyes. Fantastic moment for every true Indian. Ignore few people who fails to accept this as golden moment eventhough they belong to India. Even Sachin's words to NDTV, " I am proud to be a Indian! "

Thats it.. somehow i should try to sleep now because had to go to office tomorrow.. :( ;)

^Yes fireworks started here too as soon as India won the match and continued for about 2 hours.
This is a very happy moment for Indian Cricket and anyone who is proud to be an Indian. Stupid comments like it's not the world cup won't take anything away from it. There is no point in discussing that any further.

Well...It was a match worth watching! Misbah played really well and any1 who blames him for the match does not deserve to be a cricket fan! The thing is that Shoaib Malik...playing sooooooooooo good throughout the tournament, and playing such inning in the final is really bad! Dont blame Afridi coz he hasnt performed in the full tournament except against Bangladesh! The biggest mistake in this game by Pakistan was that they sent Kamran Akmal at number 3! Why the hell would somebody want to move a players position when he is really set at that position?? Younis Khan was set at number 3! Then...why would you want to remove Fawad Alam from the team and get Yasir Arafat in?? BAD! India deserved to win the game and they did win it!

Agreed :cheers. The fact that he played brilliantly with tailenders and brought Pakistan that close to victory is just incredible. After 16 overs, I thought it should be an easy win for us since Pakistan had only 3 wickets left and only one good batsman at the crease. But he turned the game in favor of Pakistan by the end of 19th over, with Tanvir providing some good assistance . But, unfortunately he couldn't finish it off. A great innings nonetheless :clap:hpraise.

OOH AHH INDIA AYAA INDIA!!
Oiii CHAK DE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish i could have watched this match live! India, you beauty!!!!!!

Both are dfferent, World 20/20 and 20/20 World Cup are two different things :)

Different by the usage of words. Thats all. Both are world championships and equal in importance. Teams celebrate the same way when they win a World Cup or when they win a World Championship (or Champions Trophy). Same way!

What about 50/50  you guys are horses for short races not for long :laugh

dont worry. we will be ready to face you in 2011.

First of all stop calling us as "you". You are also indian.Or should i call you traitor?

that guy supports any side that plays against india. leave it! i will refer to him as an aussie supporter.. his team got the treatment from both the top two teams, india and pakistan.

I dont know why are you quoting WC's posts. He is not worth it.
Lets talk about India. We won today and its a big celebration going on the streets of India.Happy Diwali.Chak De India.:p

Looks like the country is enjoying this victory in a big way. Oh god, how good it would be to be at this time in India, enjoying the win with my friends and close relatives. These type of wins dont come often.

i told it before, no matter whether We win 20/20 or not, i hardly care ;) its 50 overs match which matters :)

we can have a different thread for it...

dont make a fool out of urself in your attempt to downplay india's achievement.

"Boys play well" - Inzi :p

Smile - We thought we would be in the Semi's.
Smile - We beat Aussies and the Kiwis
Smile - The leading wicket taker was Pakistani.
Smile - It's just a game.

Well done to India for winning, what for me, has been a great tournament.

Regardless of the name, you've proved yourself by winning the games that matter, against the rest of the top cricket playing nations.
