Sri Lanka A finish tour with dull draw

3-DAY TOUR MATCH, Chester-le-Street, day three
Sri Lanka A 351 & 226/5 drew with Durham 341

Sri Lanka A finished their tour of England with a dull bore draw in Durham. Sri
Lanka were only half way through their 2nd innings before the umpires called
time on day three. Gunawardene and Samaraweera both hit nineties in the game
to finish on a positive note before heading back to Sri Lanka.

20 year old Luke Evans took four wickets in the first innings to help bowl Sri
Lanka out for 351. Gunawardene hit 93 from 189 balls on a damp Chester-le-Street
pitch, Warnapura also hitting a fifty with 70 in 96 balls.

Durham looked in trouble when they lost early wickets but a 62 from Garry Park
and 40 from keeper Goddard made sure they would not be bowled out cheaply.
Welegedera took the best figures of the match, beating Evans, with 4 wickets
for 87 runs.

Sri Lanka continued good batting form, this time captain Samaraweera hitting
a fine 92* to make sure of a draw. Opening batsmen Perera hit 87 to add to
his 97 against Lancashire earlier in the tour. Over all a good tour for the Sri
Lanka A team, losing just the one match at Old Trafford.

Not a good game by the sounds of things, though you don't usually get results in 3-dayers do you?

England v India 3rd Test

bbccricketwk3.jpg

THIRD NPOWER TEST MATCH, The Brit Oval, day three
India 127/2 & 294 lead England 259 by 162 runs

India wanted to build a healthy lead, starting the innings on 35/0 effectively.
Jaffer fell early LBW to Anderson for just 7, a sharp ball striking Jaffer in front.
Karthik joined Sehwag and together they managed to put on 78 to pile the
pressure onto the English bowlers. Finally England got the breakthrough, Sehwag
looking to work it through mid-wicket was bowled by Sidebottom for
37 from a steady 136 deliveries. Karthik pushed on and went on to record his
fifth test fifty. Karthik and Dravid closed the day out on 69* and 6* respectively.
England now have a lot of work to do in these final two days to salvage
something from this test match and series.

England have got to bowl and bat superbly from here on end to get anything from the game. India in very commanding position.

Great update Jack, you are always classy :p

I feel England can do this. If they can get Kartik and Dravid early tomorrow they should be set up to chase down the runs. Keep this up mate, maybe more frequent updates? :p
