20 Feb - Kenya vs New Zealand

Nathan McCullum's in real doubt for the match, and Vettori's still no certainty of playing.

Hmmm... Luke Woodcock as our only specialist spinner...

Luckily it's only Kenya, so they should make sure Vettori's 100% instead of risking him when he probably shouldn't be needed.

I can't really see us losing this one but I reckon it could be close if they play well. Hopefully McCullum is back for the next game he is probably one of the most important players in our side.

Oh no looks as if Mills is out too, not sure whether thats a bad or a good thing the way hes bowling atm.

The bowlers, especially the seamers, have been so lacklustre that Vettori was prompted to say that their bowling coach Allan Donald "is even now bowling better than all fast bowlers"

haha, sadly enough it probably is true. If NcCullum and Mills are both out...
7. Vettori
8. Oram
9. Woodcock
10. Southee
11. Bennett

I'd rather Woodcock batted higher but I don't think he will. We can't really take in a bowling attack that looks different from that because I don't think they'll want to rely on 10 overs from Styris and Franklin.

nice decision by kenya to bat first.Vettori says that they can't take lightly kenya in the opening match

There's like 50 people in the stadium. Pretty embarrassing for a world cup.

hmmmmm....Strange enough....One member ( Amit )in the astrology forum has made this prediction yesterday itself -

Regarding Kenya vs New Zealand, The ASC goes to New Zealand since aries represents dark colours and New Zealand are wearing black. Libra denotes green and the cricket team of Kenya wear green. The part of fortune is in the DSC so Kenya are in a fortunate position. With DSC ruling planet venus conjuct midheaven, Kenya will control the match and the winner of this game will be Kenya.

Damn would have liked to see NZ batting first. Kenya will bat slowly and look to bat out 50 overs and in the process lose all their wickets.

Some mad low bounce happening, obviously playing a role in all the lbws. Maybe NZ would also lose a few wickets out there.

Bennett looks like a solid fast bowler. This should give NZ bowling some confidence.

Its good to have low ranked teams bat first as the matches get over quickly rather than dragging on.
