Adam Gilchrist's book (merged threads)

The Australian media has been trying to feed off the book by publishing it in full view to the Indian viewers out there who will outpour their obviosu angst because Gilchrist is posting nonsense based on his own interpretations. He is posting like the normal Aussie fan that you see in these forums, but he is using his book and his status as a cult cricketer to the fullest extent.

Indian fans take objection to it because we believe Gilchrist does not have the evidence to back up his claims. We are not blinded by our stars (and you dont tell that to us, because we can say the same nonsense that you're blinded by your own stars like Gilchrist). I HAVE LOST RESPECT FOR GILCHRIST, and there is nothing yet to change my opinion (and its highly unlikely that I will get anything to make me change mine)!

Big shock fo us and Gilly

Gilly is a man who don't fear media or any criticisers. He is true gentleman who does not look for attention, publicity and respect. He is most honest and jusy say his line without giving a damn.

Everyone has a different way of thinking and view point..

with the sight you see it may be right or wrong but who cares right? =)

Your sentence shows your contradictory notions. Being a "true gentleman" usually excludes you in most cases from being the "most honest ... without giving a damn". "True gentlemen" tend to care about how what they say may affect other people's feelings.

The line needs to be drawn between what Gilly wrote and said though, and he is yet to make any public comments regarding any of this, as I said before it's journalists looking for a headline.

Mate, they're not going to listen to you. They're don't care if it was from the book or not, they're still gonna think it was a personal attack against the players.

I'm guessing this book is only released in Aus so far because it's unavailable on amazon uk? Should be a good read by the sounds of things. :D

The chucker allegations are really stupid. Gilly, like all other humans who know how to read, would have had the opportunity to read that by the past laws, 90% of the bowlers would have been guilty of chucking. To blatantly ignore that just so he can be chummy with the ignorant portion of the world's population is pretty dumb.

And at this rate, he's not going to have too many friends left in international cricket, either.

Obviously Gilly dont wanna extend his IPL career and live inside Australia only.

This is just getting pathetic. does he really want sales this badly? At this rate, I wouldn't be shocked if his whole book was just him insulting other cricketers:D

Although Aus does make a point. hopefully it is just sensationalism

lol i'll read the book. The constant slandering is making me interested. Next Gilly thinks Rudd's a douche and he wouldn't mind a one on one session with Palin... :hpraise

Well Gilchrist doesn't say he breaks the rules. He just says he doesn't agree with the rule itself basically. Lots of people would agree with that, it's not a hooper style argument we are talking about here.

Yeah, but in doing that he is ignoring the fact that 90% of the bowlers tested at the ICC Champions Trophy a few years back would have been chucking by the old rules. If he agrees its an optical illusion, then I don't see where he gets off since the rules made a lot of players legal, not just Murali.

Maybe he thinks all those players are chuckers as well :D I think he's just trying to sell his book but he could well just not actually know anything about the fact behind Murali and assume because it doesn't look right it's chucking. It would be ignorant but he is an Aussie :p
