Afl 2008

He hasnt taken a hanger for us yet, besides the one against the bulldogs last year. He is still a crap at goal kicking, gives away free's. He has no confidence. He needs to just spark himself and get that ball and kick it through the big sticks!

Might need to play him at CHF and let him get the ball, he got some decent possessions against us last season. We're thankful that you gave Paul Medhurst though, so some good game from the trade. :)

...which seems like the same old story for Freo. :o

all our coaches so far have been too soft an continued to play players on potential and effort instead of skills and form.

So far harvey has talked tough an threatened the axe to underperformers an said players who perform in wafl will be rewarded for there form.

So far hes pretty much lived up to them threats(after rnd1) and hopefully it will jolt the players into perfroming every week.

With medhurst he got in a form slump,he bulked up too much an could only play in the forward line which had farmer in it wanting to play the same role.
He had too much to offer so they didnt want to drop him, then ofcourse because he wasnt doing much the media jumped all over him and wouldnt give him any peace.

Medhurst was left with no option but to try an get away from here.

The media here is very pro eagles so if any freo player is struggling they are quick to jump on there case in the hopes of weakening our team an players confidence.
The player continues to struggle an then not only do the media keep giving them a hard time, then the fans start getting on there case which doesnt help them at all.

In a 2 team football town where the media is pro eagles its very tough to be a docker, they do well an there quick to try an hold u down, u do bad an there even quicker to stick the boot in an try an keep u down.

You can say that again!

See the back of The West today? Instead of praising the Dockers performance, the backpage was concerned about Cox's foot...

Oh and Sman, Im on BigFooty as "Jordan...", I see you post there.

nah i refuse to by that biased crap paper anymore.

Dockers win the derby an continue their recent dominance over the eagles in derbys an all they care to write about is Coxs foot wow what a suprise.

We have now won 4 out of the last 5 derbys, if it was the other way round it would be all over the papers saying eagles continue there dominance over freo.

Ahhh ok yep just recently started posting over at bigfooty.
Noticed Majestic over there also.

I suppose todays paper was all about kerr getting off
Or maybe because we have bad news with the guy who resurrected our club leaving they put that over the back page, more negative freo stuff they love that.

Yeah, I don't buy it anymore either. I only read it because Dad brings home from work every night so I give the Sports section a scan. Its pathetic.

This week is vs Richmond. So I think it's safe to say we have a win here, I seriously can't remember the last time the Tigers won over here, might of been back in the WACA AFL days. :D

This will be our 3rd straight game at Subi as well. ;)

I would like to think that I can be objective, and not be biased, I can admit when my team plays crap...and I know when some players are not pulling their weight I don't think I could ever be as one eyed as some...

Just wondering. If the AFL decided to create a Tasmanian team, which is highly likely to be the case in the distant future after they create a Gold Coast and West Sydney team, would you start supporting Tassie or remain a Collywobble fan?

Same type of situation when Freo and Port came to town in WA and Adelaide. Some will convert, some will stay loyal.

Yeah but its a bit different as its the first AFL team in Tassie.... plus its Collingwood, any excuse not to support them will do.

I'd most likely stay supporting Collingwood, I would have a passing interest in the Tasmanian side, I've been brought up supporting the Magpies (as seen by my supporting of Glenorchy, Port Magpies.) and don't expect that to change.

I don't mean it as disrespect to the future Tasmanian side if there ever was one, it's just I am a Collingwood supporter and would not change that for anything. I would however watch their games, I have only been to 3 Tasmanian games, 2 of which were practice matches and the other was a Geelong thrashing of Tasmania at Bellerive last season.

I do not see a Tasmanian side in the AFL at this stage, and by some of the things I have heard from Andy D there does not appear to be one in the future of the AFL, unless an established team decided they would move all their home games to Tasmania and became a Tasmanian team, ala South Melbourne moving to Sydney.

I would hate for our team if we were to get one be a team that was forced to move here, we'd like a team that wanted to be Tasmanian, and represent the State as being a Tasmanian team.
