India has made the highest score against Australia in an innings with 705

Wrong England has the highest score 903-7d England v Australia.

India are meant to be the champions of playing spin bowling, the best in the world! Yet this 23 year old Left Arm Orthodox part timer called Michael Clarke took figures of 6/9, that's half of his first class wickets taken in one game! That had nothing to do with the dodgey pitch?

Of course it did...the pitch greatly helped him and allowed the Indian lower-middle order and tail to disintegrate. But up until that point Australia were being smashed around by Laxman and Sachin. And the Australians never really smashed anyone around in their second innings, being too busy as they were walking back to the pavilion.

Besides, Clarke's spell may have just been a one-off instance where everything suddenly clicked. He just put the ball in the correct place and the pitch did the rest. And finally, the rest of the Indian batsmen must have become complacent seeing that Sachin and Laxman were smashing everyone else around. Clarke, being an unknown bowler, was not given much respect. And I believe Clarke also took a 4-fer in an ODI game at the Wankhede last year.

Lol, I personally think its the West Indies. Something about the way they've played in the VB Series... its a ominous warning to the rest of the World, here comes the Windies again!

Squiz...for one thing Sohum has already made the point that I was about to make... see it was Aussies' problem that Warne injured his finger in a vain attempt at batting... and its your so-called great new captain's fault that he didn't introduce Clarke earlier... else Aussies may have had a chance but while Tendulkar, Laxman, Dravid and Kaif were playing it(pitch) didn't look that bad...also when Gillespie was trying hard to stay in...

and one more thing - if Aussies are so good at playing pace then how come a Shoaibless Pakistan attack has reduced them to 201/7 in 41 overs at WACA? I know this is a pointless argument but that is the point.

btw squiz, when you don't have any valid point to make, giving -ve reputation is a sad way to debate.

What's the bloody reputation thing for if you can't bloody use it then! If you agree with a post give it positive rep, if you dont agree give it negative rep, SIMPLE!

"yeah? and who defeated your team at Adelaide?"
We had a world class bowling attack then didnt we! No Warne, Gillespie and Lee coming back from injury, and Brad Williams/Nathan Bracken (forget which one) early in their career.

"I'd say australian player who stood between an indian series win was bucknor."
Stop bloody blaming the umpires:
"the amount of whining and crying you hear when" indians "blame their losses on umpires and stupid sh*t like "is so pathetic it's laughable."

"the amount of whining and crying you hear when aussies lose is so pathetic it's laughable."
Whining and crying? The pitch was bloody dodgey, it wasn't even up to first class standard FFS! Probably not even grade cricket or even Under/12's

good enough bloody point for ya!!!

LOL! you pathetic people behave like 14 year old cry girls..so many sad excuses..

and it'll be better if you learn to handle your language..may be it's the normal way you people speak in your homes but you can try to be more civilized here.

It's not that simple- if you disagree with a post that provides a well thought out argument, it doesn't deserve that. Whether any of these do that is debatable

In regards to the language, I don't think the word "bloody" will cause any permanent damage to you

And "sad excuses"? You blame the umpires whenever you lose

The umpire decisions sort of stick in the head especially when they are so glaringly wrong. Especially when two plumb LBW decisions are not given in a single over. No one should even try to make the point that umpire error does not affect any match whatsoever. They would be 'bloody' dumb then.

Not until India had scored 205 runs?? No body here said the pitch was good. Most agree that it was a shocker!! But not so bad that the world champions collapse for 93?? A batsman like Gillespie with mixed caution and aggression was able to defy the Indians. The other batsman are hell bent upon hitting the ball out of the park! Hayden, Ponting, Lehmann, Gilchrist, Clarke, etc. Matryn was out to a good ball from Kartik!
