Brett Lee to produce theme song for 2011 WC

MELBOURNE: Australian pacer Brett Lee is all set to produce and perform the theme song for the 2011 cricket World Cup in the sub-continent.

The tearaway bowler, who turned 31 on November 8, said he was looking forward to wooing billions of people in the region with his song for the mega event, to be hosted jointly by India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

"Music's a great passion of mine, apart from cricket, and to be able to produce a song for such a big occasion - particularly given it's in the subcontinent, a place that I love - only adds to the excitement," Lee was quoted as saying by the 'Sydney Morning Herald'.

"The people in that part of the world have such a passion for cricket and music. I'm sure the World Cup on the subcontinent is going to be a great event," he added.

In other news, Stevie Gerrard is composing the Euro 2008 theme tune as well.

Thanks for that news. Otherwhile I wouldn't have known it.

What a champion Lee is. That's just awesome.

Him and Tim Cahill, two of the greatest Australian players ever.

(Yes, I know Tim Cahill plays soccer)

As long as this song isn't in Hindi then it's good, because he looked like a fool in that indian song lol.

He is awesome though!

He was great in that song with Asha Bhosle...

This is great news for the WC!
