Story Briggs Bullets...Moving On Up! (Battrick)

Regarding Bilal's team (this is quite a story), he has been banned from Battrick. I'll tell you what happened: When he joined, he made two teams for himself, which is illegal. So one of them was banned and he was warned. Things were going happily for Bilal in the battrick world until..... his brother made a team for himself from Bilal's computer. So the Battrick warlords, thinking that bilal has made yet another team, banned him from battrick. :p

Poor Bilal! I remember in my early days of Battrick he hammered me!

Good job i sent an e-mail to the admins at Battrick telling them about my cousins team or I would have been in deep to say the least!

I think its unfortunate for Bilal. I agree with Zorax that he should email the battrick mods

Briggs XI were in dominant form today as they thrashed Aura by 9 wickets at The Briggs Dome. Over 1000 fans turned out to see this friendly match between two teams in good form, but it would be the home side who would walk away with the victory in an entertaining contest. Aura started badly and never seemed to recover, losing their first wicket after only 3 balls and to say at one stage they were 156 for 7, they did well to recover and post 181. Dangerous batsman Manogaran Wijenayake top scored with 74, and he was the main stay of an otherwise dissapointing performance from the Aura batsman. All 5 bowlers used picked up wickets, with Kenny Forbes finishing with fine figures of 4 for 27, yet another fine bowling performance from the star all-rounder. Briggs XI reply started sharply, but when captain Nalin Ali fell for 8, caught infront of the stumps by Inoka Ilanganage, Ainsworth really kicked into top gear and hammered an unbeaten 105 from only 87 deliveries. He was well accompanied by Hamish Hildred who scored a quick 56 as Briggs XI won with over 23 overs to spare.

Man Of The Match

Managers View

"A very good all-round performance from the lads, we looked sharp in the field and our bowling was top notch. Derek worked his magic again and was very well supported by Hamish who I thought batted brilliantly out there. We've shown were not a one man team today and I am delighted that we have performed like this on the eve of such big games next week."

Down At The Nets

This weeks nets took place today, and with 2 games in 3 days, Shaun Briggs decided he would take it easy and not put too much strain on some of his players. As a result, only minor battrick rating increases occured today, the notecable one being Nalin Ali who raised well above the 15,000 mark as he continues to improve.

Preperations For Tomorrow

31/03/2006
Briggs XI v Postwar's@ The Briggs Dome
Start Time: 10:30am

Pre-Match Notes: Postwar's make the journey to The Briggs Dome tomorrow as they look to pick up on their ever impressive league form. Despite losing last time out to gloucester gipsies, they still put up a very brave fight chasing 366 for victory, they fell only 40 runs short in a brave effort against 2nd place. Despite being 5th in the league, Postwar's form of late has picked up and they will come to The Dome hoping to cause an upset against the unbeaten leaders. Briggs XI have won 16 on the trot and Postwar's will have to cause some upset if they are to have a chance of winning what is set to be a fascinating encounter.

Judging on my last match and Postwar's last match, depending on the teams for tomorrow, the summary would be as follows:

Code:
                [B]Briggs XI [/B] [B]Postwar's[/B]
Top Order: proficient competent
Middle Order: competent mediocre
Lower Order: abysmal [B]V[/B] woeful
Seam Bowling: respectable competent
Spin Bowling: competent competent
Fielding: mediocre feeble

Postwar's have a pretty decent side, and are not to be underestimated. They have a good top and middle order, and their lower order are more than capable of chipping in with a few runs. The bowling department also looks to be covered with some decent players as well so plenty for Shaun Briggs to think about.

Briggs XI Lineup to face Bennington Town CC tomorrow (from):
1.Ainsworth, 2.Ali(c), 3.Hildred, 4.Forbes, 5.Stamp, 6.Iftikhar, 7.Mcdonagh, 8.Henman(wk), 9.Browne, 10.Oneil, 11.Rowson

Briggs' View
"This is going to be a big test for us, Postwar's are not to be underestimated and if we want to extend our unbeaten record, we are going to have to be at the very top level of our games tomorrow. I will be instilling this into the boys heads before they go out tomorrow, this is a key game and good preperation for Sunday."
