Wasted talent?

Yes, he was good in 2003, when he came on the scene.

But you make your own luck in this game, and Sami hasn't done that. Yes, there will always be those who say Sami is the unluckiest bowler (Umpires, catches, etc.)

But still. Average over 48 (probably over 50 now).

Its time to end this drama. Sami is as pathetic a bowler as you will ever see in world cricket. He has talent, but he hasn't utilized it properly.

I feel that any player who gets into the test side is pretty much talented .
Sami has been talked of as a promising bowler for years, especially by Imran Khan who is generally great at picking talent.
I think it is time Pakistan dump him .
If you do not have much better options than Rao and Sami, you`ll struggle in test cricket because you are bound to have fast bowlers getting injuries .

look at them right now. No Gul or Asif available so they rely heavily on AKhtar. If Akhtar doesn't get his wickets then the opposition can piles up the runs as the others (Sami & Kaneria) arent ever getting wickets. We are so desperate for wickets, we are forced to bowl Yasir Hameed and Salman Butt! Nevermind Tanvirs spin bowling!

Sami needed long spell of bowling in test matches. Now he will definately pick some wickets in next match. This match the poor guy toiled hard even though he was unfit and showed more heart then Akhtar. Thumbs Up for that.

I know it's a basic way of judging, but just take a look at their domestic records and you'll see how inferior Sami is. The only thing he has going for him is a little bit of pace and the ability to swing the ball, but that's basically useless without reasonable accuracy.

Yasir Arafat for one (I know he is in the squad) has a fantastic FC strike rate of 39.4 and batting average of 27.11 to boot.

I think you should change the thread title to GET RID OF MOHAMMAD SAMI as he is offically crap. After 2 matches - 4 innings - 66 overs - 396 balls he has only 5 maidens - economy of 3.96 and not a SINGLE WICKET. Even Salman bloody butt took a wicket and Sami couldn't buy a wicket. He's crap.
