1st Innings:
Playing like he had nothing to lose, Herschelle Gibbs came out swinging and hit his first 50 off 32 balls. He slowed down as the innings went on but kept a solid run rate eventually being run out for 113 which included 5 sixes. Pakistan received little mercy from the middle order too, with both AB de Villiers and JP Duminy scoring unbeaten half centuries. Both striking above 100 to set a total of 329.
If Pakistan were to be any chance then they would have to set the tempo of their run chase in the first 10 overs..
2nd Innings:
They didn't start well, and they didn't end well. Pakistan struggled throughout the whole of the chase with only Younis Khan and Umar Akmal putting up any kind of fight. The crowd were overwhelmed as the hosts pulled off the biggest win of the tournament, in the final.
Shane Watson was a surprise pick over Herschelle Gibbs and Dale Steyn for the tournaments MVP
