Come on mods. Give us a chance

Should we be allowed some sort of variation of a Superthread?

I realise that the staff are against re-opening the superthread and there are reasons for it to be kept closed, but in my own opinion it's a good idea to get it back. I am not going to argue about the decision whichever is made, but I agree with the others that one thread of spam and random talk is better than a load of threads. The posts won't be counted so it doesn't make a difference in that way either. People who don't want to visit or see the off-topic chat/spam don't have to go into the thread. I really don't see a problem with it being re-opened, and any members that use the thread irresponsibly will just have to face the following actions.

Just what I think on the matter, but like I said, I will go along with any decisions that are made and get on with it...

Well, out of the 63 threads you've started, 37 of them have had nothing to do with either Cricket or cricket gaming (discounting Threads in Feedback/Suggestions)

You didn't seem to have a problem with it then.
Yes but when you see they confined to the forum rules and regulations you can't even call that spam and unappropriate content. They do belong to the proper forum too.

Half the reason was most of those spammy posts were deleted. Kev and stevie did a great job with that.
No my point was that I have never even been in the Superthread. You make it sound as if it was bringing down the overall quality of the forum when that clearly wasn't the case. As I see it it was one bloody thread. Since when did one thread become a valid reflection of a whole forum?

So, Kshitiz? That was not your point. Your point was that these threads had nothing in sync with a Cricket gaming forum.

Even though I don't fully support the re-opening of the superthread, I think you should come out of the supposed "golden era". It might have existed but when its not going to come again there's no point moaning about it again and again. No offense again.

Your exactly right, which is why the Superthread re-opening will be crap. The Superthread was part of that supposed 'golden era' and it should be left there.

Sorry lads, but we've made a decision a while ago after a long discussion and we've agreed that all members will do is spam day and night and really that's not good for the forum.

Our decision is final.

Yeah right

Even someone like HBK would understand that obviously my post meant unappropriate and unsuitable content first. Btw Its not just a cricket gaming forum anymore, Its a cricket forum.

And more, instead of dragging this discussion to somewhere it isnt meant to go, I think you should reconsider where are you're standing your ground and what type of content you are defending on your turf.

Will, I am not saying there should be absolutely no offtopic content. If that would have been the mod's intention they would have never made a General, NE&G forums and others like that. All there shouldn't be on the forum is content like that.

Forgive me for taking your comments on face value. I should have read between the lines.

And yes, I am defending 'questionable' content but the fact is the mods had no problem with the thread until pictures of small girls were posted which leads me back to my original point; Mods will do more than simply delete posts without warning.

You can't possibly tell me it's pure coincidental that the Staff took action after these pictures were posted.

EDIT: Just seen your edit, so fair enough but my point was we weren't told that the content was unappropriate before closure.

As for the Superthread, I don't want another one as that ship has sailed. It's in the past and most members have forgptten about it.

No. Warnings are meant for people who are going on a bit of a wronger side. But in this case, they were going against the rules so they had to do it. They might've probably deleted many posts while you maybe asleep - you never know, you can't see them.

I meant the majority of us including the Admins.

So end of the day you mean, Colin, Syl, Zimrahil and Ste decided and the rest of you have to go along with it, whether you like it or not. I'm not saying that is a bad thing, but let's not beat around the bush

But Tom, things like staff have to sing and swim together, so I guess all have to agree. I learnt that lesson when Duff went.

We all agreed after discussing the matter on the staff forum and most of us agreed.

Kind of different from what you originally said and completely different from the impression I was getting from Sureshot.

Just for the record I'm not purposefully looking for an argument but I feel we should be able to have a say in what happens
