It's just I feel that there are some members these days who are dragging down the level of this forum. That may not be everyone's opinion but a couple of names keep coming up over and over again

Meh I'm not going to get worked up over it. I can't make a difference to the way the admins work and react over certain members. We just have to grin and indulge them it seems, until they decide enough is enough.

I'd just like to say as well, up until the later months of it's closure, the Superthread wasn't just a spam fest as some of you lot seem to think. We had some very funny and ever so occasionally sensible discussions in there. It wasn't just a case of spamzilla. We all ruined it in the end (by all I mean Muel and Me) with all the gay porn references and stuff, but the thread wasn't just a spamfest. Just thought i'd say.

I rarely posted in the superthread but read it from timte to time and to be fair alot of the posts in there were dross. Then there would be a classic. Then more dross, then another classic etc.

Yeah and I'm the Prime Minister : Matt sums that up pretty well I feel

Remember it is a forum Tom and it isn't the end of your life if something doesn't go wrong, howveer I am not saying that you are implying the opposite. If a suggestion gets rejected after some serious thought by different staff members then it is just time to move on, forget about it and start posting some real good quality posts, instead of fighting a losing battle.

I have to say that I do agree with the sentiments of the above post. We do not live in a perfect world, and there will always be spam to some extent. Surely having a specific place for general discussion of anything you like will reduce the level of off-topic posts in other parts of the forum.

Taking a quick glance through the active threads in this forum at the moment, none of them achieve the two criteria above to anything like the extent the superthread managed.

I don't view this as a sensible argument. Why did we join a forum in the first place, rather than operate out of a chatroom? It allows us to leave messages for others to read later, which solves the problem of not having enough/the right people online at any given time. A superthread would allows this, chatroom's don't.

Just thought I would say that the "shout" addition can do this. It can pretty much act as a superthread.

Haha! You could say exactly the same thing about everything on this forum! Next you'll be taking everything off bar the cricket stuff : Just put it back on and everyone will be happy. Stop trying to create arguments when there is no point whatsoever.

Why on earth would we have seperate rules for one thread and another set of rules for the rest of the forum? Hell one of the people who was constantly making the gay jokes said they took it too far (yes, you Matthew! ) and the thread deserved to be closed.

It's not happening, end of story.
