End of Over 26: 124-1, runrate=4.77
Crouch 8-0-45-0
Mason* 48 (74 balls)
Gilroy 71 (80 balls)

Run rate's a bit slow, but relieved to have only lost 1 wicket - I#m not afraid to admit Zorax has one hell of a bowling attack.

26.2 4 Tuckett to Mason
Beautifully guided to the third man boundary for four.
And that's his fifty! Well played.

Mason's good record against the Lions continues.

End of Over 38: 180-1, runrate=4.74
Andrews 9-0-46-0
Gilroy* 97 (119 balls)
Mason 75 (107 balls)

Bit worried about the run rate still, but I still have loads of batting to come (notably Stiles and Basson) so hopefully I should get fairly close to 300. I want Gilroy to hit out when he gets to 100.

40.6 1 Rudi to Gilroy
Tucked away nicely backward of square for the single.
And that's a century for Gilroy! Well played indeed Sir!
40.5 . Rudi to Gilroy
Hmm, was that a bit of reverse swing for Rudi there? Gilroy certainly looked concerned.
40.4 1 Rudi to Mason
Sneaky single past short square leg. Andrews needs to be alive to that.
40.3 4 Rudi to Mason
Magnificent shot, lad. Crisp and out of the middle of the bat, no chance for the cover fielder. Four runs
40.2 4 Rudi to Mason
Tuckett hasn?t picked that one up and Mason adds four to his total.
40.1 . Rudi to Mason
Short down leg, Mason misses with the attempted glance.

Decent enough over to start the last 10. Hit out, lads!

got shabbaz out for 113, 4 wickets fell in the next 2 overs after that, including a dlomo hattrick

if i get them out for less than 250 id say i was favourites goign into my innings, experimented by putting dlomo at the death, i was reluctant to play a spinner there but it seems to have paid off

End of Over 42: 234-6, runrate=5.57
Dlomo 6-0-21-3
Shorey* 40 (31 balls)
Doshi 0 (0 balls)

need to get shorey now though

End of Over 43: 210-2, runrate=4.88
Rudi 7-1-35-2
Gilroy* 108 (134 balls)
Stiles 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Mason lbw b. Rudi 93 (FOW: 210/2)

42.6 W Rudi to Mason
Absolutely plumb! By the time the bowler looked back to the umpire, the finger was already up.

Mason out, perversely happy about it. Stiles is a better bat.

43.3 W Tuckett to Basson
Wild swing to the off side but Basson only manages to nick it. Taken cleanly by Rheams.
43.2 W Tuckett to Stiles
A dolly. Stiles won?t be happy with that shot.

Thats put a spanner in the works.

43.6 W Tuckett to Gilroy
Well, that's straight up in the air! The fielders are converging but Crouch has waved them all off - and it's caught! Very well taken!

A famous Battrick collapse in progress. I hope Zorax gets one too :p

End of Over 50: 268-10, runrate=5.36
Dlomo 9-0-32-5
Shorey* 52 (47 balls)

competetive total, Dlomo the pick of the bowlers with a 5fer

Well, my match is interesting. Since I'm failing miserably in my league, my morale is letting me down. Hence, I was bowled out for 185 against Umer's XI !!

However, it's an uneven track and I do have some very good seamers. Hopefully, I should bowl them out by 30 overs.

15.3 W Hemmings to Cox
A dive to the left with hand outstretched sees a superb catch from Fieldwick.

20.2 W Stone to Whing
Pull shot straight into the hands of Fieldwick at square leg.

A decent start by the lions but a couple of wickets going down.

End of Over 21: 104-2, runrate=4.95, reqrunrate=4.59 (236-10)
Stone 4-0-22-1
Rudi* 22 (18 balls)
Gallagher 1 (3 balls)

End of Over 21: 104-1, runrate=4.95
Tuckett 1-0-4-0
Gilroy* 56 (62 balls)
Mason 44 (62 balls)

Exactly the same score after 21 overs, I had 1 more wicket in hand though.

End of Over 31: 158-2, runrate=5.10, reqrunrate=4.16 (236-10)
Stone 9-0-45-1
Rudi* 38 (45 balls)
Gallagher 39 (36 balls)

Last Wicket: Whing c. Fieldwick b. Stone 45 (FOW: 102/2)
Looking good for me, although we all know very well how in BT that can change in a second.
Crouch, Shipp and Butcher to come. Incase no-one noticed, I've dropped Arthur Dennis and let Tuckett be skipper. That was the big change...
Tuckett took 5/40, what a beast he's been this season. And Rudi took 5 too!! So that's all 10 wickets split between two bowlers! Folkes did a great containiment job, only 40 runs conceded. Andrews gave away 52, and Crouch 50.
31.3 4 Hemmings to Rudi
Goes down the wicket and pushes it back to the bowler. Oh dear! Hemmings has taken a shy at the striker's end but the throw eludes Basson and whistles on down to the boundary! Bonus runs those.
31.2 6 Hemmings to Rudi
Ooh, that's a few!
That helps :)
Pitch is uneven, so probably helped me a bit with my strong bowling attack. It is apparently cloudy and humid, despite it saying it was sunny on the forecast for the last few days!! But Rudi and Tuckett were spectacular nonetheless.
Gilroy made a fine 109 for the Wulfs, before Crouch got him caught off Tuckett.

32.2 1 Stone to Rudi
With soft hands, Rudi drops the ball at his feet and steals a quick run.
And that's his fifty! Well played.
5 wickets and a fifty. A very worthy successor to Ryan Crouch here.

It seems to me that in Battrick, if 1 team collapses, the other often does too, so I'm still in with a shout with Otto coming back.

Pitch is uneven, so probably helped me a bit with my strong bowling attack.

Wanted a hard and fast, it didn't change fast enough :p

Well, it was a hard task for the groundsman :p
33.4 4 Hemmings to Rudi
Full delivery, advanced, smacked to wide deep mid wicket for a boundary.
33.2 4 Hemmings to Rudi
Brings out the sweep shot and gets four more runs off a loose ball.
Rudi going beserk, seems to have taken a liking to Hemmings...

One of the biggest upsets in Battrick history is about to take place:

End of Over 39: 146-4, runrate=3.74, reqrunrate=3.64 (185-10)
Mcdonald 8-3-25-3
Hammond* 7 (13 balls)
Jeffrey 0 (4 balls)

Umer's XI are cruising right now, unless there's a collapse....

34.6 6 Griffin to Gallagher
Edged and surely out! No, its gone all the way!
And that's his fifty! Well played.
34.3 4 Griffin to Gallagher
Plays it past extra cover and the man sweeping can't stop it rolling onto the ropes.
Fantastic
35.3 2 Hemmings to Rudi
A good looking drive. A slight fumble by the cover fielder gives away an extra run.
35.2 2 Hemmings to Rudi
Rudi drives, but he hasn't quite picked the gap, and Gilroy stops the ball near the boundary.
35.1 4 Hemmings to Rudi
Makes room outside off stump and smears it over the infield for four runs.
Both of them have gone absolutely beserk, like the slog come early. Brilliant stuff.
35.6 W Hemmings to Gallagher
Gallagher advanced miles down the crease to try for a max, but the spin decieved him and Basson stumps him easily.
Ah well, fantastic knock, and Crouchy is in!

End of Over 36: 201-3, runrate=5.58, reqrunrate=2.57 (236-10)
Hemmings 8-0-48-2
Rudi* 69 (63 balls)
Crouch 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Gallagher st. Basson b. Hemmings 51 (FOW: 201/3)
I couldn't possibly lose this, could I??

39.2 W Hemmings to Rudi
Basson has taken the bails off so quick even Rudi knows hes out by a mile.
Uh oh. Shipp in. Only 25 runs from victory, they can't falter from here...can they...no, no they can't...hopefully :(
