Why when I start a test at The Oval in Summer at 10AM is there this strange low sunlight and all the floodlights on?
Yes. I've noticed this too. The lighting seems to be very odd in this version and the position of the Sun doesn't seem to be accurate for geographical location and time of day. Often I've found first class cricket being played under floodlights in the dark too...I've never gone off for bad light. Is bad light even a thing in the game?
That said, and always looking for positives, on an unrelated note I do think that BA have done a good job with spin bowling in this version. This is the first version where I've seen noticeable turn. I think DBC14 was best for drift but most versions have done little more than straighten with the turning ball. I don't know whether this is down to fiddling a bit with sliders or whether BA have just made turn more of a factor but I just had a great First Class game in career mode for Durham vs Surrey, picking up 4-94 in the first innings and 6-62 in the second. Lots of different wickets (catch in the deep, full-stretch dive at cover, catch at midwicket, LBW, caught behind, catches at slip and leg slip, bat pad, couple of nice clean bowled bowling outside leg and turing back in to hit leg or middle-and-leg) and lots plays and misses as the ball turns sharply past the bat. Genuinely a lot of fun.

Just lost an Ashes Test which I really should have won comfortably but it's hard when the bowler turns into SUPERMAN!! when you hit straight drives.Five caught and bowled.I would take two of them as acceptable but five is ridiculous. Also it seems that if you hit any lofted shot you are virtually guaranteed to find a fielder in Test match mode.I don't know if this is the case in the shorter formats on the game.Finding a balance between simulation and enjoyability has to in there somewhere.
Yeah mate, pace bowlers field like anything- it's near to impossible to score straight down the ground off them. If you notice, the pacers don't have any follow through either. They just release the ball and stand there, ready to field as if they were spinners!

If your reactions are fast enough you will see just before you strike the ball that the bowler is already jumping in the direction that you aim your shot. You could actually just watch the replay. That is what I call scripting perfection. :lol :lol :lol

Unable to start a custom league as it keeps crashing. My career also keeps crashing when I load up.

A bit of a mare.

The game is just not right on xbox ...no matter what i do the run rate in tests is ridicoulous the infamous boundary ball off every over
Adjusted the sliders and nothing happens
Im not a game designer and understand cricket is a game of many variables but surely this is something that can and should be fixed
Not even the legendary teams of the past scored at 5 an over in tests

How do you edit downloaded teams? It doesn't allow me to change player attributes.

Unlike most I've often preferred bowling in BA games to batting but the 5th/6th ball AI slog really is annoying me to the point where if I want my controller to survive another few weeks I'm going to have to just stop bowling altogether.

I was playing an Ireland vs PNG ODI and it kept happening so I decided to do a quick impromptu experiment. On the 6th ball of a Curtis Campher over I kept exiting after the batsman had played a shot and going back into the game. I did this 12 times, varying the type of delivery and speed of delivery each time and on 9 of the 12 occasions the batsman hit a 4 or 6. Of the other 3, 2 were saved by a boundary rider and 1 was a play and miss.

I'm not saying all were good balls but the bowling was good enough not to warrant 9 boundaries being hit.

So many share your pain there, even if you are in a minority & many choose to go the route of the all-rounder vs the specialist bowler :(!! (I couldn't play C19 with the later patches or C22 as a spec bowler mate, (especially as I use Elite Series 2 controllers lol ;) ).

The amount of individual complaints about these scripted run rates & the AI seeking the minimum one boundary per over has reached an all time high in both C19 & C22.

I don't recall C19 being quite this bad with regards to the scripted run rates at release, & especially the ridiculous shots that the AI batsmen now resort to over & over again to maintain the scripted run rate. It wasn't perfect, but it was never this bad until the later patches and/or the DLC were added too, especially the ridiculous uppercut the AI can't stop using.

Hopefully it's just these early bugs that desperately need ironing out & it will improve further :). Sadly, if the patches don't help then lazy/rushed coding or a lack of implementation may be the root problem to have not changed, or at least mitigated these issues by now that so many complain about. I wouldn't mind so much if I went for 3 or 4 rpo in tests, 4 to 6 in ODI, or 8 to 12 rpo in T20/The Hundred if the game reflected those runs more realistically with the AI batsmen working the opportunistic singles & twos depending on my performance as a bowler & my field set etc. Instead, we all get smacked around the park without fail (from the first ball in the short formats) regardless of whether it's a batting or bowling PP, wickets lost, weak batting team, or any other aggravating factors, unless the AI has of course predetermined that the AI batting order will collapse early for a low score anyway. (There's nothing more infuriating than BA giving us these comprehensive field editors, we come up with all sorts of different creations, only to use them in game & what does the AI do? They then launch at least one six straight over the top of the assigned boundary riders in the field set on ball one of an over anyway. (They don't even bother to aim for the nearby gap in case it drops short for four (which of course it won't) because of this poor scripting issue plaguing C19 & C22.)

It's lose, lose & it's certainly not going to get any better any time soon as long as BA essentially continue to build each new iteration with this ongoing copy/paste mentality from the previous iterations, including a direct copy/paste of all known long term bugs & problems. The cycle will just repeat on an endless loop & never break until a new dedicated development team can start to work a new build from the ground up. (Easier said than done, granted.)

They must fix these issues with the offside & lofted shots just not working as that too is ultimately game breaking. (Am actually surprised they've left those problems uncorrected this long & it didn't exactly bode well when BA started asking for videos of the problem as if they had no idea it was even present.)

Finger's crossed :)!!

According to Ross Symons they had 60 people working on some of these issues. Wonder how many of the 60 actually tested the game and patches. If they need proof via videos they can follow some of the popular streamers and watch their gameplay live. There is plenty of evidence they can use.

Honestly, I'm kind of losing hope...

I loved Cricket 19 but always felt a sense of scripting, particularly when bowling. That forced 4 per over thing, particularly with aggressive batsmen.

Now we are 3 years later and all of these issues have gotten worse. And what has been added? Unique bowling actions... Okay, they are cool, but that's it?

I have tried Playing ODI and couple of t20s and AI scores quite heavily especially after recent patch for Xbox (1513) (At least 2 boundaries each over and looks very much scripted. Basically AI tries to hit every ball out of the park or for the boundary. I tried playing default settings with AI-Pro. Batting/Bowling-Hard. Physics-Hard. I’m not sure if anyone else has experienced the same.
