Cricket Revolution Editing Thread

He is just playing.:p. He is using TexMOD ;)
TexMOD can replace textures but cannot remove nets for free play you see. The reason I have not released the "no-net" patch is since it was not doing any value adds to the demo. In fact, once the batsman missed the ball, it was taking its own time to reach the end of the screen before next delivery. Also, there is only one camera here, so even if you hit an off-side/leg-side shot without nets, it would have not shown you rest of the practice arena. :)

The reason why TexMOD won't work because the executable of the game first executes steam and then execute game. It won't work with steam versions. May work with the CD versions.

The thing is very simple but typical. The .CR files are simple PKZIP (PKWare) archives. The encryption is a bit typical.

Can you create your own players/teams? or are you only able to edit players/teams that are already on the game?

You can edit the ability points of players but not edit names or create new teams. That was case till week ago. Do not know the status now.

Editing Roster is as easy as editing controls. Just open file with hex editor and change it.
The game is packed with a player editor which allows you to edit everything in the roster. No need for a player editor this time. Don't try to edit using a hex editor. The change is offset will corrupt your game.

But sid said you can't edit names?

Legal issues.
That's right. We were contacted by the ECB some time ago about this, and apparently they have some issues with users being able to edit mis-spelled player names. To avoid getting into a legal mess, we've disabled this feature for the initial version and will switch it back on once we're done looking into the legalities regarding this.

:crying

Lack of customization in a Cricket game that's not licensed is a big blow, hopefully it's switched back on quickly. Until then, it's time to remember how to use a hex editor again.

Nothing can stop patchers from correcting the name. I have made a name changer though.:p

You and Planet Cricket will receive a legal note from ECB.
