Its a rare occasion when you get a new fresh game which is not a sequel of a franchise and is really fun to play too. Darksiders could be the sleeper hit of this year. There wasn't much hype during its release. Even i didn't knew about it till my friend showed me a trailer.
Story is simple,
The time for the great Apocalypse of legend has come in Darksiders as you take on the role of War, one of the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and rain judgment and destruction down upon the Earth. However, not all is as it seems when you discover that you and your fellow Horsemen have been implicated for the premature destruction of Earth and are swept up in a conspiracy between the forces of Heaven and Hell. Banished and stripped of your powers, embark on an epic quest of revenge and redemption as you battle angels and demons to restore your awesome abilities and seek out who betrayed you

Its a game which borrows a lot of thing from famous button mashing games. It has shamelessly copied the demon Spawning and level pacing of Devil May Cry 4, The combos of GOW and to some extent Dark Sector. But it has done it very well. Due to these similarities you feel right at home if you use a XBOX controller as some of the combos work exactly as you anticipate them.

Although gameplay element might be borrowed, story is fresh and really good. So some RPG fans might try this for story only. I wouldn't knew anything about the four horseman of Apocalypse if i wasn't a follower of "Supernatural" :p

I have already played it for 8 hours (actual play time), yet it feels like there is a lot to discovery and lot of story to unfold. This one gonna be a really long journey. Last time i played a really long game was "Mass Effect 2", that took me 29 hours to finish 100%. Lets hope i could finish it before Fable 3 arrives.

I don't really like this game, it just dosen't have the same scale of strategy of a button masher like God of War.

The demo is awesome length, though, 90 minutes. It's a shame that I didn't feel like finishing it.

I played this game for about three hours on 360 and for some reason my head started spinning whenever I played. I have not touched in since. Its a good game and will satisfy the fans of hack and slash.

^ that might be epilepsy dude.. Get it checked.

@thedon I know its not of the level of GOW but its still very good. It has borrowed some puzzles from POP... I'm clearing it 2 hour in a day ATM. Coz for some reason i can't play it more than 2 hours a day... Maybe hack/slash starts to bore by that time. Thus i play something else

um no it's not. Epilepsy involves seizures

Still it must be something.. A game is not supposed to spin your head :p

Possibly very severe motion sickness?

@AP: Hack and slash dosen't get boring by that time, games like God of War or Bayonetta are always awesome.

It's not a bad game, just not outstanding.

You can say that... It is a tad repetitive. Thats why i can't play it for longer hours. Like i'm at a puzzle in the game. For that i have to clear 3 different levels and then backtrack the some kinda light beam from the boss fight of each level using mirrors an portals to the starting point... It took me a hour to clear one area and then backtracking was a pain in ass. Will do one level in morning and another maybe in the night.. Can't do all three together.

P.S; I'm 12 hours in the game... This is certainly long for single player games.

Lols. I have been gaming before and after that and nothing of that sort happened too frequently. Thank you for concern AP but its not epilepsy. The same kind of thing used to happen to me when I played DOOM. I think it has something to do with resolution.

I knew a guy who couldn't play first-person shooter games, because it gave him motion sickness and he would vomit if he tried to play them.

Mind you, that same guy also made derogatory remarks about gay people and non-whites, so I stopped talking to him.

I play FPS games regularly and have had no health issues. I also assure you that there is absolutely no correlation between dizziness while gaming and racist attitude :)
