Nope but then I never raised it as an option for DBC17... whenever they ask for input about the next iteration rest assured i'll be making the case for a scenario creator :)
If you can, suggest a coach mode a la the manager mode in the FIFA or MAdden games. Would be great to be able to control a team, spot talent, pick players, start as a club manager and work your way up to international and rebuild a team from scratch etc over a period of years. Would seem the logical extension to career mode as it stands now.

I just found @inertSpark has done the retro ACB 2 batsman logo... I am so happy :) some other genius who's name i can't see on ps4 did the same in green & yellow too. i have nabbed both :)

I've made an edited version of the inertSpark one (hope you don't mind) with the colour changed to green for Aussie shirts.

I've got some editing of player skills, links, bats & lineups to do but i've put together all the squads for the following:

  • 1980/81 Australia - covers the Centenary Test at Lords & 2 ODIs of 1980, plus Botham's Ashes & ODIs 1981. This squad uses the ACB logos mentioned above.
  • 1980/81 England - covers home & away Tests & ODIs vs West Indies 1980 & 81, Centenary Test & ODIs vs Aus 1980, plus Botham's Ashes & ODIs 1981. This squad uses @Llewelynf England 3 lions logo for identity, and his wonderful TCCB Lion and stumps for the shirts.
  • 1980/81 West Indies - covers home & away Tests & ODIs vs England 1980 & 81. This squad uses the pre-99 logo I made by editing the current WI llewelynf logo.
  • 1981/82 England - covers home & away Tests & ODIs vs India 1981 & 82, away Test & ODIs vs Sri Lanka 1982, & home Tests & ODIs vs Pakistan 1982. Same deal with logos as above.
  • 1981/82 India - covers home & away Tests & ODIs vs England 1981 & 82. logo is @Llewelynf India Logo
  • 1982 Sri Lanka - covers home ODIs & Test (their first ever test) vs England 1982. logo is @Llewelynf Sri Lanka Logo
  • 1982 Pakistan - covers away ODIs & Tests vs England 1982. logo is @Llewelynf Pakistan Logo
All teams also contain players and bats from lots of different creators.

Although they all require some more work I've added them to server as is. The squads are all complete in terms of player lists. I've not yet added stadiums to any of the teams. The names on the server are as listed above. my academy user name is mrdconnors

I will be adding more 80s squads to cover England home and away matches/tours (probably excluding world cups) in due course.
@blockerdave really appreciate your efforts here. I've downloaded all the teams and am thinking of setting up a ludicrous Test World Cup with them all (retro filter used, of course) and see how long that takes me to get through. I do note that Pakistan seems to be missing Imran Khan...unless I'm mistaken.

Hi, I don't know if this is the right place but in career mode all the teams only play in their T20 kits for all competitions despite the settings saying that they are in their respective competitions. How do I fix this?

Thanks

Thanks to the uploaders for the historical teams, love using them in matches. Don't really understand linking too well but I noticed one or two issues with England players from Mouseydread's teams - Geoff Boycott seemed to be linked to the fake Colin Cowdrey who's in the on-disc teams and there was something up with Graham Gooch too. Really don't mean to be ungrateful but thought I'd mention it, erm... quite vaguely now I read it !

Oh, also noticed lots of player commentary names missing from Mouseydread's teams too - I get that creating teams is loads of work and I would have been fine adding the info myself but the players all seemed to be locked. Any chance of reuploading in unlocked versions if that's possible ? Shame to have the likes of Ian Botham without their commentary surname. Don't know much about these things but I'm not convinced Garfield Sobers should be rated 99 either ! Anyway - just nitpicks after spending ages downloading lots of teams and thanks again to everybody for your efforts in adding a historical dimension to the game.

Slightly off topic but how do you go about swapping the players in the on disc historical teams with correctly named players ? Noticed that some got updated - linked I guess - when I imported historical sides but others didn't.

It's why I'mnot uploading any of my 80's or 90's teams too many problems with linked players coming from 14 to 17. I don't care if my academy is messed up but others will be pissed off.

Erm....indisputably the greatest all rounder of all time, batting average of 57 (up there with the all time great specialists) and bowling average 34 when he could bowl fast medium, slow left arm and chinaman, all to international standard?

If he's not due a 99 rating then who is?!

Thanks for the feedback I did notice this recently with the players you mentioned and have started to rectify beginning with a new team I uploaded England 1970 to 1974.

My 1975-1979 England will have my own Gooch and Botham and possibly Botham.

As for the commentary names it defaults to their names. Edit in "Bloggs" and if Bloggs is in the database you will hear his name if not you won't. I learned this very early on when editing.

Though I must mention the excellent work of others who post here too.

There is a new Boycott I've created and uploaded and think it's a fairly easy fix. For the most part I create my own players but I don't recall them being locked as I wouldn't know how But will check and fix.

The players with issues that I'd got from other creators in my uploads are for the record that have this issue are Gooch, Boycott, Michael Slater, Geoff Marsh and I think Bob Taylor great creations but with issues.

I'll keep updating the teams just pleased people are downloading them I think I've created every single West Indian Test player since 1950 except the major players in the 70s and 80s and early 90s Richards Etc.

am getting through the 1960s and 1970s for all teams some uploaded, try the Pakistan early 60s teams great fun bowling with Fazal Mahmoud or the England early 60s teams.

When we do a 'get best' it can mess with those ones but I believe I'll just update them shortly

Lots of Aussie and West Indies teams!!

Thanks for feedback glad you are enjoying the historical sides I've got some classic matches to recreate with Patch 4 out!

You're doing a great job, didn't know about the commentary names defaulting to the surname if they're there - really useful to know. Been almost exclusively playing with your and blockerdave's teams.

Glad you're enjoying them mate. I must admit there are some issues on linking in mine, largely where the dbc14 players get imported into dbc17 lined wrongly. I've undone that wherever I've seen it, but haven't always linked the players myself because the DBC17 UI and linking process is really so bad. Things that were merely time consuming in 14 are headache inducing in 17.

My DBC14 player list was perfect - no duplication, everyone linked right. In DBC17 is a jumbled mess and it's all the fault of the UI which is the worst UI I've ever endured.

I will fix up my retro teams better shortly and reshare.

Hey @blockerdave I downloaded your 1980/81 Aus, Eng and WI teams, but none of them have hats, helmets pads etc. that's ok, but did they use the helmets without the grill, or just hats back then? (I'm a bit young for the early 80's haha)

hello mate, i'll reshare as i've just updated them yesterday including assigning bats, doing the 1979/80 World Series Cup kits (as close as my skills and the template limitations allow) completing the test kits and fixing some linking issues.

i think in reality most of the players would have batted without helmets, which only really just began then. but i've assigned some retro non-grill helmets. i'll reshare this afternoon and confirm
