The party that swung into gear at SCG, when Tremlett dismisses Beer to confirm England's Ashes success. It was an impressive show of support for England's first Ashes series victory in Australia since 1990/91. "To beat Australia, who had bullied us for many series wasn't that easy. But what we must do is really enjoy the moments and then concentrate on the ODI series and make sure we continue the success - we've a young set of players who could go along way and then set the pair for World Cup." said the skipper Strauss. England will play seven one-day international and two T20 matches against the Australians. They'll face Australia in the seven limited-overs contests, starting with the T20 games, over the next week before the preparing for the ODI series. England will play an ODD games before the start of the first ODI at MCG.

Looking forward to this story. Unlike Roo, I wish that England continues to dominate as they did in the Ashes. :)

The England selectors have named a 18-man squad for the one-day and T20 series against Australia. Darren Pattinson won a surprise call-up to England's squad for next week's opening T20 against Australia in Melbourne. Pattinson, who made his Test debut at Leeds, is the only player uncapped at one-day level named in the squad and he will take over Broad who is suffering knee injury. Steve Davies, who is expected to open with captain Strauss, and Trott returns to the squad after an impressive performance in the Test series. Davies, the man rated as one of the hottest young talents in England came into form with a ton for Surrey. Contracted wicket keeper Davies is likely to cover Prior’s absence, and may take his place in the one-day, with the captain opening if he impresses. Ian Bell and Michael Yardy have also been called to the one-day squad while they includes 11 players who featured in England's triumphant Ashes 2010/11. Trott will give them options in the top three of the order and he has been in prolific form in the Ashes. Similarly, Pietersen enjoys an excellent record in the sorter form of the game. Prior will be disappointed not to have been selected but he's confident that he can recapture his best in the one-day games. Morgan involved in joining the squad, and he has the ability to bat in a number of different positions. "In terms of the overall make-up of the squad, we have opted for 18 players as this is in line with the number that they will be required to nominate for the ODI and T20" - Andy Flower. While coming to the bowling department, the selectors obviously had to make a change to the side following Broad's unavailability, they where pleased to welcome Finn to the one-day squad. He has proven himself to be the best seamer in one-day cricket, as he deserves his spot to make it through 18. Tremlett continue to impress with his strong performances shown in Test.

Bit surprised that Anderson isn't in the starting 11 for England. I would have him ahead of Finn in the line-up. Otherwise it's a strong outfit, with the batting order going long deep into the 11. Good to see Collingwood at number 7 as well, he will enjoy the freedom of being able to smash the ball around a little bit and not have too much worry or stress on his shoulders.

Loving the update mate, keep up the good work

Nice update mate. Though, writing can be in paras. Also, nice try at the line up card. Text spoils hard work though, doesn't look professional.

Yeah, it took ages to decide the font, as I've more than 500.

Good update there. Text doesn't really look good in that line up card but the efforts being put into it are really good. You could've maybe gone for a simple font, Arial maybe.

the font you've used will look good on the headers but for names and player types some simple font would've sufficed.

The english pace bowling looks weak without Anderson or even Shahzad in the main eleven.

Good going Brendan. I'd suggest you to use one from the 'Neo Sans' font family as it is similar to the channel 9 font. Best of luck for the story!

The Australian selectors today announced a 14-man squad under the captaincy of Michael Clarke for the Commonwealth Bank series against England. Clarke?s struggles this summer continue a miserable run in one-day cricket - He just scored 193 runs in his last 5 test matches with an average of 21.44, But Clarke believes he still have time to rediscover his best form.

Marsh and Tait are included in Aussie's one-day and T20 squad. Tait, who has been in and out of one-day side, is selected on the back of his recent impressive figures for Southern Australia, while Marsh has been in great form with the bat and had some terrific performance against Victoria. "He deserves this opportunity and he has been the outstanding performer in the domestic season with his consistent big-hitting scoring." - Tim Nielsen.

Out-of-form Brad Haddin, who has an average of less than 24 in his past four one-day and is without a half-century acknowledged he needed to make runs in the one-day cricket. Michael Hussey enjoyed a stunning of form recently, building on his stunning displays during the Test series against England. David Hussey, the brother of Australian Test batsman Michael, is always a confident guy so it doesn't really matter what form he's in. While Steven Smith has obviously picked up the workload. Brett Lee is included after touring India in October 2009, makes a welcome return after undergoing surgery.

I love the fact that Tait and especially Shaun Marsh are included in this Australian side. I believe Marsh is always hard done by the critics and selectors.

If that is the Australians starting line up i would have M.Hussey batting at number 4 maybe, and move Haddin down the order. But it looks like a wonderful squad.

Do they have to finalize their World Cup squads after the first game?
(Or is this one of those fantasy stories, where the ICC has some common sense? :lol)
