ENGLAND vs INDIA: NATWEST TRI-SERIES, 2nd ODI
NOTTINGHAM, TRENT BRIDGE
1st INNINGS, START OF PLAY

Well this has been the match we've all been waiting for, England vs India ODI. The crowds are buzzing and the players hearts are pumping this could be the start of a long and gruelling summer for England, or one which we won't be able to predict?

The two teams look solid, as England are unchanged and India are nearly at full strenght. They will look at their batsmen to lead the way as it so often is, and then just let that nack of getting wickets kick in. The news from the middle is that India have won the toss and have elected to bat first on this strong good looking Trent Bridge track. It should favour the batsmen but the groundsmen reckons that their will be some movement for the bowlers, although there might not be enough pace...but this could sucker the batsmen early on.

The players make their way out to the middle!

The England side look pretty confident and they rightly should do so coming of the back of a huge victory against a West Indies side that have been troubling them the whole summer. We know that the English will have to get them early breakthroughs but the bowling will have to be tight, tighter then what we saw in the first match of this tri-series. Were going to take a look at the two line-ups now, the Indian side looks stronger on paper mainly because of that depth they have in their batting, with the likes of Tendulkar, Sehwag, Yuvraj and even the tailend in Irfan Pathan, these guys can do the damage early on, or even late on in the innings!

As we can see the Indian team looks stronger in some aspects of the game but out on the pitch anything can happen, confidence is a big factor in cricket and it may well control the game today. The English are also batting a long way down the order but with some more unexpirianced batsmen. On the other hand they have match winning batsmen in Collingwood, Pietersen and Flintoff. If these guys fire on form then it could be a easy victory for England, but for now the English lions have to concentrate on how to break down this strong Indian batting attack...were in for a treat of a match, stay tuned!

india going in with a very strong XI. will be tough for england to win but, with some good bowling they should be able to restrict india to 200-220. great pres as always kutgw mate

Harmison batting ahead of Broad is strange in my opinion. The Indian team looks too strong but I have belief in the England team and as long as their bowlers can get some good combinations going then they might have a chance.

Awesome presentation so far, Punk.

ENGLAND vs INDIA: NATWEST TRI-SERIES, 2nd ODI
NOTTINGHAM, TRENT BRIDGE
1st INNINGS, 10 OVER UPDATE!

ENGLAND GET THE EARLY BREAKTHROUGH!

England have done what they were hoping for and that was get the early breaktrhough and that too of the dangerous Mahendra Singh Dhoni. India got off to a slow start with the ball barley piercing the infield. The England boys knew that something would come around the corner, maybe a mistake, a rad decision by the batsmen. But nothing of that sort came.

Instead, we saw a beautiful piece of bowling by James Anderson, who somehow managed to get one to nip in from outside off stump. This decived Dhoni greatly and he was all in shock when the ball had rattled into the off peg. The groundsmen did suggest that there will be something in this pitch for the bowlers early on and then the wicket will flaten out come the second innings, so England need to get as many as they can before the batsmen get a chance to dominate the innings, and we know that can full well happen at anytime with the Indian team!

SEHWAG TRYING TO UP THE SCORING RATE!

As we know Sehwag can be one of the most destructive batsmen in world cricket if he wants to be, and he has to be today if India want to get off to a winning start in this tour of England. The Indians have been supressed pretty well in the first ten overs which isn't usually the case, they had close to no runs in the first three overs but then but then this is where Sehwag showed that he knows his role and responsibilty in this match and what his innings could mean to the team.

Sehwag has had a few tricky moments when the ball was moving about hes played some miss timed shots too which could have gone anywhere, however he kept his cool and played safe, but not as safe as were making out, he's gone for his strokes and thats what we know him for, a stroke maker. He's already hit the first six of the match and is carrying the Indian innings in this first ten overs.

As we take a look at some of his strokes, hes played with aggression but also played in a good cricketing way, that six was a mark that hes not afraid to go after the bowlers no matter what the situation, even if they have lost a wicket, he is willing to attack and set the rest of the innings up for his batsmen!

India haven't had a fast start to their overs but have lost a vital wicket. I say vital but it is only Mahendra Dhoni. :p

The batting lineup of India is strong enough to cope with the early loss but it's a start for England. If England could perhaps get two or three more quick wickets of Tendulkar and co then they might stand a chance. They need to give their batsmen a decent total to chase anyhow.

Great presentation, Punk, as per normal. The animation is awesome and the general graphics, as well as the writing is very very good. Hopefully you can keep the standard at this high rate.

How much do you edit the pictures in terms of quality? Like in photoshop or what you use how much effects do you put on them and how much is purely from the game? Cos the graphics are incredible!

How do you do the scorcards dude??? They are fantastic. Great graphics and presentartion KUTGW

Erm, the scorecards are made by me. The annimation picture has no edits in it, it's purly from the game, and the Sehwag update is edited on photoshop. I don't edit it too much just add some render effects I've learned.

It's practice from photoshop really, like you instinctively know what to do sometimes.

Hope your all enjoying the story, another update coming soon!

:cheers

And you say this is cricket 05? Have you got like a top spec laptop cos the graphics are so good! It makes me want to invest in C05!

Top spec PC...nah it's not top spec but pretty good and runs Cricket 2005 with ease.

Cracking start by England here. Don't know what Dhoni was thinking leaving that ball, but it is good to see Jimmy getting a wicket. Bowling has been tight as well, keeping the run-rate nice and low, although there is always danger present when Sehwag is present. just wondering if maybe you could add bowling scorecards as well with the updates?

Fantastic work mate, this is superb, your GFX and writing skills are phenomenal :thumbs

an average start for the indians, a great start for england, a few more wickets and england will be in a commanding position. im so enthralled by how marvellous the graphics are and the presentation is spectacular.

keep up the GREAT work mate :hpraise

ENGLAND vs INDIA: NATWEST TRI-SERIES, 2ND ODI!
NOTTINGHAM, TRENT BRIDGE
1st INNINGS, 30 OVER UPDATE!

SEHWAG AND TENDULKAR KNUCKLE DOWN!

The two Indian batsmen out there in the middle have really been knuckling down to business, it's been really tough for them to score runs and this track is really slowing up for them making it hard to time the ball with efficiency and flow. However the class of these two batsmen is not to be forgotten, their both fighters and have been in a situation like this many times before.

Theres a plus point both batsmen can take out of this, and that is the fact that England havn't really had any chances since that early wicket, which does seem to have knocked India's concentration a bit. Sachin Tendulkar and Sehwag have been trying their best to push around for singles and the odd boundary, and the partnership seems to be coming on nicely with both men feeding of eachothers flashing stroke play!

SEHWAG GONE LEG BEFORE WICKET!

Just as the Indians were getting into fifth gear, the English found a breakthrough, and the crucial wicket of Sehwag who did the damage early on when India needed him most. Young Stuard Broad was the one who got the crowd roaring once again with a brilliant swinging delivery which were sure the Indian camp arent too happy about.

Let's take a look at how it all happened, Broad delived a beauty of a ball that pitched around off stump, our first impression was that it was missing off stump. England enforced an extended appeal and the finger rose when the shout was dying a few people on the field were smiling, but the finger of the umprie shocked everyone. We couldn't believe it and nor could India, or Sehwag. A decision which was nearly forced onto the umprie, just because England were a bit optimistic with their appeal...

TENDULKAR MASTERCLASS!

So India lose two wickets and don't have many runs on the board. But they have Sachin Tendulkar, and hes batting as we speak. The one man they hoped wouldn't be dismissed was the little master, who is in the process of digging India out of a grave at this moment. His batting skill is needed more than ever right now, he can turn the game for India, or they can have a slow peeling end to the innings if he loses his wicket. He's been batting with expiriance if anything, playing every ball on their merits, almost like a test match except, the level of appreciation is high when it's pulled off at the right pace in an ODI match.

He hasn't looked troubled against the England bowling attack and they havn't found a way to trouble him, hes played in such a messured fashion it's hard to force a mistake out of him. He hasn't let himself get tied down or frustrated at periods where the runs weren't flowing. It will however be in his mind that these next twenty overs will decide the match for India and give them some hope. They can't afford to set a low scoring total if England are batting the way they have been recently. Or will we see that familiar English cricketing pattern of inconsistency? The pitch could also slow down a great deal, so a low total may not be too bad, were thinking something around 225-240 is acceptable!
