FIFA08 vs PES2008

Hmmm, Animator is a lad with sense. Hard not to believe him. But until I can actually play on the damn thing (grrr! Laptops! i'll reserve my judgment. Surely it can't be as bad as the FIFA demo? If the FIFA demo is more enjoyable than the PES one then i'm rather worried.

I know, i've played the FIFA demo and it sucked cheesy balls. Animator describing PES as worse than that makes me cringe and worry about Konami who for as much love as I have for them, haven't really drastically changed PES since the transition from PES3 to PES4.

I'm still gonna buy PES obviously because it's tradition now. I could actually be spending my hard earned (Ha!) cash on clobber from TopMan but Konami has got the better of me. Damn you Hideo!

I can't beleive some people say PES is arcadey? Its just stereotyped to that because of the company that makes them, Konami.

If a different company made it, that wasn't a known company to make arcade games, then Iam 100% sure that people wouldn't be saying; "Oh PES is more of an arcade game of the two, whilst FIFA is very realistic."

Sure the menus and all that may not be as polished as FIFA's but that doesn't make a game "acardey". Because PES gameplay isnt arcadey at all.

Fact is though, you're always going to get it. It's PES. You're gonna laugh, cry, weep and cheer just as much as you would all the previous versions. Especially with being on your rich-boy HD TV. Bitch.

In terms of graphics, I think people with mid range PC's should buy PES on a console. Otherwise, prepare to have shoddy graphics. Not wanting to boast but my 2900XT makes this look like a Football Gamers dream

Anyway, I was not contradicting as people have said, as I have only contributed to discussions on PES6 and FIFA07. I have never tried to prove either of the newgames were better than the other. Having played both demos I am still prefereing PES, but will probably buy both and see for myself.

I'm not sure whether playing the demo would be good for me if its that different, I usually don't particularly like PES when a new one comes out and it really takes a few games to get used too so i'm not sure a demo will allow me to get the best out of the game.

You fail to completely read what i said once more. I didnt claim that PES was arcadey, but less realistic than Fifa. The styling of Konami games and the use of the previous ISS engine means that some of the core gameplay physics are a tad unrealistic/arcadey. Doesnt mean i am saying that PES is 100% arcadey. Fifa is more realistic by a mile, PES is a better game in true gaming terms as it provides a more fun version of Footballl but that DOESNT make it more realistic. *Insert a typical Fanboy comment, often seen in this area of the forum* It seems PES fanboys will argue over anything, even if they are wrong. ¬¬

Can you people not see the positives in both games ? Or does there have to be an argument about everything ? My recent delving into this part of the forum has really put me off coming into this area in the near future for one main reason. People's blatent disregard for other peoples opinions and just seeing what they believe as fact and just ignore anyone with a different point of view and see it as wrong and then talk down to them about it. Just frustrates me.
