If someone could help me that'd be brilliant!

On my old laptop it worked fine, full screen etc.

Now, on this new one, i start a game and only find it in the middle of the screen, how do i get a game to use my full screen?

Before you ask for a screenshot, i can't as the screenshot only shows the game screen, no the black emptiness around it, AND i can only move my mouse inside the small square section of my laptop screen where the game is on!

Please help.

Might be something to do with the native resolution of your screen. LCD screens can actually only display things at one resolution, if you are not using that resolution then usually the display has to interpolate/extrapolate to make it fit its native resolution. For example if your native resolution is 1024x768 but you choose 800x600 you are still actually displaying at 1024x768, but the display is just filling in the gaps, this usually leads to a slight blurryness. Perhaps your graphics card/screen is not capable of doing this. Try finding out what the native resolution of your display is then set the game to that resolution.

See if your GFX card drivers are installed correctly, and they are updated.

Your Laptop is probably widescreen.
I am assuming it has Intel graphics.
Right Click on the Desktop, there might be an option of "Graphic Properties".
hover your mouse over that, and other menu comes up which has "Panel Fit"
Now Click on "Full Screen (no Border)"

I think this should do the job.

If there the option is not present in the right click menu do this :

Go to the Control Panel, Switch to classic view. (on the left pane, there is an option to do so.)
There will be an icon saying Intel Extreme Graphics, or something like that. Open it, ad a window will come up.
On the Left side there will be buttons. Click on the the buttons one by one, and see in the middle. There will be an option/button for Aspect Ratio. once you find it, click on it, and then click on Full Screen (No Border).

Click ok on all the windows to exit.

Now check to see if it is working.
A window will appear

Sorry, i've been offline to due internet problems :p

It didn't work, so its the graphics card. I'm going to have to go into the local computer show to see how much a decent card will be.

Cheers for the help :)

You need not change the card, Its just a setting that needs to be tweaked. Besides, you have a Laptop, upgrading a graphics card may not be possible, or, if it is, will be a very costly affair.

You need to tell me which integrated graphics your Laptop has?

What does this mean? And how do i do it, i'm sorry but i'm a total idiot when it comes to computers :)

Almost all laptops are integrated video cards.

Basically, if you bought your laptop from Dell (or a company of the like) its integrated.

Best bet is to chuck it in the garbage :p

If you do want to upgrade the video card, its gonna be a hefty cost (but that might be the only way)

You are out of luck if you want to change hardware on a laptop, its just not done. What we really need to know at the very least is the model number of your laptop before you can really be advised correctly.

Fair few different L300 models but I guess you mean a Satellite Pro L300. What resolution do you run the screen at? If its not 1280x800 then set it to that and then set the game resolution to that also.

My advise on screen resolution remains the same ;)
