It's Bangladesh vs India again in a World Cup match. :)

This is what Ireland is thinking currently:

Simmons wants Super Eights berth
Cricinfo staff
May 25, 2009

Ireland coach Phil Simmons has big ambitions for his team at the ICC World Twenty20 and will be disappointed if his side doesn't make it through to the Super Eight stage of the tournament.

The Ireland squad are preparing to leave for a training camp and their warm-up games ahead of their first match at the ICC World Twenty20 against Bangladesh, at Trent Bridge, on June 8. The players will travel in good spirits after demolishing Worcestershire for 58 in the Friends Provident Trophy last week.

"Obviously our best chance lies in the game against Bangladesh but the beauty of Twenty20 cricket is its unpredictability. We will be going into the warm up games and the tournament in a confident mood."

Yup. Ireland has no chance here. Good for B'desh. As we along with them are going to the super eights...Ireland has no chance at all.

Your right about that, 20/20 cricket is very unpredictable and although I can't see Ireland beating India they could upset Bangladesh.

^ I don't see any chance of that, to be very honest.
Here are my predictions for the different matches of this group:

1. Ind vs B'desh: India will win but not by a huge margin
2. Ireland vs B'desh: Bangladesh will win
3. Ind vs Ireland: India will thrash Ireland

And India and B'desh will go to the super-eights.
Mark my words. I'm 100 percent sure that each one of them will come true.

I am not sure about Bangladesh vs Ireland (Ireland could cause an upset there). India should beat Ireland comfortably. I hope we beat Bangladesh comfortably too (I am a little worried abt Bangladesh because this is T20, and if they can upset us in a World Cup ODI, they have better chances of doing the same in a T20)

Not to demean anything, but the fixtures for India look like a walkover. A good warm-up before they enter the next stage in the competition. Not writing off Ireland and Bangladesh though, they've good potential. But going back 2 years to the last T20 WC, Things were a lot unpredictable, remember?, India were nearly knocked out and hopes were dark to get over to the next round. Thanks to the amazing tie between India and pakistan that pakistan nearly took away from India, if they did, India wouldn't have been the Champions. But luck, gave way and India cruised to be the champions of the first ever T20 WC, thanks to some eminently good performances.

But after 2 years, the T20 teams can be rated. Though, the unpredictability can put itself whenever it wishes to. So, I think one tight show even by the teams that aren't known to be excellent can imbalance the plans of the top teams of the T20. That's the beauty of the short-over-games. Pressure, talent, anything can rise over at any time of the match.

Since the IPL has gone by, It'd be a boost for the players who played in it, And England would be good chance to reshow their performances.

So 'tis a tournament to watch, for sure. It's Intriguing to imagine what it will be like. (y).

I wish Ireland was put in our group with either WI or SL in this group. At least that way you would have the top 8 test nations split evenly.
