Not too sure about how I look at this. He had that attitude of a leader but his weaker tactical side always got the better of him. I know he was a terrible Captain when the odds were stacked against him or when the pressure was intense but his attitude to win everything changed the face of Indian Cricket and we became a lot professional in our approach. The fitness culture is probably something that Kohli put emphasis on. I know the first Captain who came up with this term was MSD. Dhoni's leadership had a lot of plans for improved fitness regimes for the players but Kohli was someone who actually put efforts and emphasis towards it. But, now I think India's fortunes will improve seeing that we don't have to face his poor on-field decisions. That Kohli fan in me is disappointed but the Indian fan in me is enlightened by the fact that now we would actually have a leader who would know to utilise the resources well. It would've been better to give the Captaincy to Rohit even for the upcoming WT20 next month.

That's obvious that he was referring to Ravi Shastri.

He uses the following

1) Ravi Shastri- Ravi bhai
2) Ravichandran Ashwin- Ash
3) Ravindra Jadeja- Jaddu
4) Rahul Dravid- Rahul bhai (I don't know why you wrote his name)
5) Ok this is going to far now.......

Bopara of course.
What has he got to do with Indian team? He is not even an Indian.

Virat Kohli has nothing to do with Ravi Bopara

But that post had everything to do with sarcasm

Ravi Bopara owns his own fried chicken shops. Maybe Kohli is planning on doing the same.

When I read this statement, I felt exactly the same. Neither he nor India play that many T20 matches at international level anyways. Apart from the T20 WC's thats lined up in consecutive years, T20 internationals are not seen seriously. If Kohli had announced step down in ODI's too, then that would've been a significant move since we line up for the ODI WC in 2023 and ODI WC is still the biggest prize in the cricket world (due to nostalgia of all those WC's that have happened in the past).

This might cause confusion with 2 white ball captains for India at the same time? I think so... The Boria guy on Twitter says that something's definitely going on behind the scenes and that if Virat does not win this upcoming T20 WC, his ODI captaincy will continue to be at stake. Makes sense since we have 2 years to the 2023 ODI WC and this is the time to change the captain if it has to be done so that the new captain has 2 years to mould the side for that tournament.

There is also the chance that Kohli could cope up with pressure during the upcoming T20 WC, now that he has announced this decision. If I were part of the opposition teams that India will play against, I would definitely have plans to increase verbal chatter around Kohli about his ICC/IPL title drought and how that ties to his decision to step down as captain in the T20 format.

I'm no one to comment about the decision of VK. But one thing I like the most is that he made sure to talk to everyone before announcing. What's even more significant is the fact that he talked to Rohit. I mean, what's the big deal, is Rohit the baby sitter of VK? And even if we already know Rohit will be the Captain, still VK could've just announced it without consulting his no. 2. That shows their friendship for each other.

I've seen so called fans cussing and blaming Rohit & VK. Twitter & WhatsApp have become battlefield for these fans.
