Looking at the performance yesterday I would want to have just one change though. It would be Iyer in place of Pandey. Don't feel the need to bring back KL yet as it's just one match so we can't just keep Dhawan out after one failure. And on to Manish Pandey he hasn't really looked good in T20 Cricket for more than a couple of years now!

Can’t speak for Russell given that he is an international athlete who knows himself best, but I would consider an extended break from cricket for the sake of rehabilitation and physiotherapy if I were him. He looked absolutely crocked in the IPL and World Cup. Should he wish to have a slightly longer career, he might have to pull out of one of the numerous leagues that he participates in.

It is pretty much impossible for the WICB to ask him to skip games as he would demand equal compensation for the same and they can’t afford it while the franchises that sign him can’t risk benching him due to the high wages he commands in addition to his star power and ability to change the game in a single moment.

The entire stadium is Indian crowd. I hardly see West Indies crowd. WICB is smart, they will make all the money in these two t20’s then entire series.

So India will always have a slow accumulator coming in at No. 5 or 6 after the fast guys (Pant and Hardik) come and go at 4 and 5? Sounds ridiculous to me, but that's what this team has been constantly doing. If you have Pandey or Iyer in the XI, Pant cannot and should not bat above them. I don't care if it is called "conservative". I would rather call it "sensible".

So frustrating. If this continues (which is very likely, considering the captain's stubborn-ness), another ICC tournament will get out of our grasp next year. And India is not even a force these days in T20I's even though we were the inaugural champions, because when we won in 2007, other teams had not yet gotten a grasp of the format and once they got a grasp of it, India have always fallen behind.

Was a good experience. Well played to our bowlers and Rohit Sharma. We are still not fixing our issues, Manish Pandey is not an international material. Also he is now in the team when his past his best. Yes the A tour was good, but playing for India vs India A is a different ball game.


We need to blood in Iyer asap. Pant should not come out at 5.

Wonderful ground, great experience and WICB for sure have earned a ton shit of money from these two matches.

And instead of giving game time and confidence to the T20 players at 6,7 and 8 we are playing 3 finger spinners as batting finishers. It is such a bad composition that it's hilarious!! I think if Jadeja has to compete with K Pandya for his spot even now after the sort of performance we have seen at the World Cup and for years now regularly then the insecurity will remain in him and in those competing with him. It is utter madness.

There is NO excuse for KL Rahul not being part of this side in this format. I also don't know why Pandey is made to bat anywhere but 3. He cannot hit right away!!! Just madness. I would actually drop Dhawan in this format and call me mad, but I don't see a batsman in sight to replace Dhoni for those big hits. Is there anyone in the IPL? If we are smart, what we can do is push Kohli to 4, have Pant at 5 and Hardik at 6. Rahul and Rohit to open and I would back someone at 3 out and out till the world T20.
