IPL 2016 - Player Auction

Why is RCB bidding for Southee ? We don't want any overses player. No place. We already have Milne if Starc is injured. Glad he went to MI.
Sold to Mumbai. *Sigh of relief*

Samuel Badree remaining unsold was more surprising than any other so called shocks.

Twenty20 career: 123 wkts, 18.93 avg, 5.36 econ
T20I career: 31 wkts, 14.96 avg, 5.39 econ

PLAYER!!!

I think we should have gone for him or M Rahman...

RCB gets Travis Head. Poor fellow. He will be sitting in the bench for most of the matches for sure.

I can't call "we" in this case since lady Ambani and son Ambani own all the money.:p

Mustafizur Rahman is good player but I don't think he can be fitted anywhere having Malinga, McClenaghan and Southee already in the side.

They should have gone for Badree, though. At very last moment. Would have been the best purchase if they could get him at his base price.

Exactly.

I see anyone of Amla, Jayawardene or Bailey coming to us would really be great.

XI(so far):

Simmons
Patel
Chand/Rayudu
Rohit
Anderson/Pollard
Pandya
Harbhajan
Suchith/Gopal
Southee/McClenaghan
Malinga
Bumrah

Overseas for team like RCB and MI are fixed, remaining will sit out...

^I shall soon try to post a combination once we know all buys, many are yet to come. But, with Buttler in, I can think of Rohit opening along with Chand/Patel and Buttler playing somewhere in the lower order. There will be no place for Simmons as he just eats up too many deliveries after finding momentum. (In middle overs)

Dhoni's side looks no way stunning as CSK, so far. Frankly, I think, they wasted those crores on Marsh and Ishant Sharma. They both would suffer a long bad period for sure. Ishant Sharma has been already a terrible T20 material. And Marsh as a bowler, I don't see would make huge differences with his medium pace on all the flat wickets.

I don't think Gayle will play all matches this year. He is a great T20 player, but his fitness levels are going down and down year by year. Last year, RCB lost some matches because he couldn't rotate the strike while settling down and that was something that made difference.

With the entry of Watson, I definitely feel Gayle will not play all the games and RCB will not be over dependent on Gayle. In fact, entry of Watson will ease the compulsion to make David Wiese play too (as a bowler).

We may see a line up on these lines:

Shane Watson
Chris Gayle/Sarfaraz Khan
Virat Kohli
AB de Villers
Mandeep Singh
Stuart Binny
Sarfaraz Khan/Travis Head
Mitchell Starc/Adam Milne
Sreenath Aravind/Harshal Patel/Abu Nichem
Varun Aaron
Yuzvendra Chahal

If the bowlers in bold turn out really terrible, we need to compensate them with an Indian batsman to rest Gayle and allow two OS bowlers. It would have been brilliant if we have 2-3 local batsmen, that would accommodate both Starc and Milne to play together.

Further, it would be really good to see Cheteshwar Pujara coming back to RCB. We need someone like Pujara, who plays some slow cricket and plays some orthodox shots when the team is collapsing, and also, that will allow gates to play two OS bowlers.

RCB squad is almost complete with some star players.

Ideal RCB playing XI:

:bat: Chris Gayle
:ar: Shane Watson
:bat: Virat Kohli
:bat: Mandeep Singh
:bat: AB De Villiers
:wkb: Kedar Jadav
:bat: Sarfaraz Khan
:bwl:Yuzvender Chahal
:bwl:Harshal Patel
:bwl:Mitchell Starc / Adam Milne
:bwl: Varun Aaron

Lots of bowling options for Kohli. Kedar Jadav can be handy with gloves and bat. Middle order is quite strong. So is the top order. This is the ideal lineup for RCB. A winning combination.

AB's batting way too low.
I've supported RCB since the first season. If they don't win it this year, I'll seriously consider switching teams.

Negi 8.5 cr. People are crazy. Really crazy.
