As most of you will have noticed we have had some major unexpected downtime today.
We're still not sure as to the cause but the effect was to corrupt the linux operating system on which the server runs. Fixing this is a time-consuming process and Whitehornmatt has been working extremely hard on it.
We're not running at 100% and don't expect to be for another 24 hours or so, so the forums may well be slow and there could be more downtime.
Fortunately no posts or data have been lost and we're looking at solutions to prevent this from happening again.

Thank you for your patience.

As far as we can tell, PlanetCricket and its associated sites are now all running back at full capacity. Again, thanks for your patience with the server, we hope to have a less bumpy ride from now on, though we are looking at options regarding increasing server capacity.

If you are having any problems, please post in Any Improvements? - Page 105 - PlanetCricket Forums

In about half an hour there will be some minor downtime (10 or so minutes), and the site will be inaccessible for that time.

Ok, slightly longer than we anticipated. We now have a second HD which should make things quicker and more efficient.

Thanks again for your patience.

Or to put it more bluntly, I stuffed everything up and undid most of my work of the past few days :facepalm
