It's all opinion. It's really good in certain areas as is with most cities. (Sydney I'm referring to, not Beijing) I said that as I haven't really seen any other major cities in Australia, (unless you include Canberra). Also the population doesn't define the quality of a city.

Actually Beijing has changed alot in recent years. Been there for a trip and it is actually quite nice. Alot more modern than Sydney or Melbourne and cheap stuff there as well
